What controller do you even have? And its a pretty simple program. Once you get the controller itself recognized, there will be white box/buttons. Just click them, according to which box = which button on the controller. But after clicking the box, a menu with a keyboard comes up. Just click to highlight the key you want for that button, repeat for each key, and that's it, done.

I'd rather just use this instead. It's an XInput emulator utility that will let you pass off any DirectInput device as an XInput one (read: Xbox 360 gamepad). You'll get proper analog control and maybe even rumble feedback this way.

Have to say best anwser to that is on PC you can if you want to use mouse/keyboard you can if you want to use game pad you can. and everyone knows, pending on your PC rig, graphics will always beat out consoles graphics wise. and the games are always cheaper then console. you can hook up todays GFX card to HDTV or even anolog TV's play your fav game with a controller. xbox controllers are supported by almost every game released on PC and work as well as it would on console. you can even buy a xbox 360 controller ment for "xbox" pug it into your PC and waa la works like a charm. so question is why are you using a xbox in the 1st place? media has got ye all griped by the dangglies if you ask me lol.

last thing as it will prolly come up: they are trying to limit PC users cuz they are losing money to PC releases bioshock for one and lastest Ghostbusters they limited the multiplayer to xbox and PS3.

Hello there!
For those who wants to play with any joystick, just download this file http://www.tocaedit.com/IB/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=4 , extract it to executable folder on your disk. With the joystick plugged on PC, run the file XInputTest and see if it matches with your joystick buttons.

The program emulates a xbox360 controller, so it works.

Sorry for the english.

Yes, thank you the two people who pointed the way to the XBOX Controller Emulator! It not only allows proper functioning of the analog sticks on my generic Saitek pad but also, now the game knows I'm using a pad instead of emulated mouse and keyboard, the controls have changed to be more pad friendly...

The camera now automatically adjusts itself for better viewing angle as you move around the city, the targeting system is much easier to control and vehicle controls map to different buttons.

One thing though, I did have to edit the INI file because when I first started using it a load of the buttons were wired up the wrong way round and my right analog stick had it's X and Y axes swapped

First of all for this game... put down the controller and learn the mouse, its not that hard if you have the right one. Besides if you stick to mouse with most games its just wiser all around, that way you don't have to invest in the perfect controler for the perfect game. Here is why i say this. If you start going with joy sticks and junk then for a car game you are gonna want something different. If you got the money then great but i personally just think you need to do a one time investment with headset and mouse, learn it and then you won't have to go with something else instea. As for the console issue.. well i use to think the exact same way... then i met Steam, most of their games i can get cheaper than buying it for xbox or ps2. Now as for the graphics, this is why you save up all your money and get yourself a real gaming computer... right now i've got an Asus G60VX-RBBX05. This thing is a beast. Even if i did hook it up to a larger monitor or my t.v. i'd probably be loosing some insainly awesome video. Going console or just using console gear is lame to me, i use to like it but almost all the great games go on pc and those that don't are not worth getting (inFamous.. for instance). While i will agree that the bioshock isn't doing as great as it could. They won't limit many pc games by a long run. There are still way too many WOW, counter strike, and Call of Duty fan's out there... and its going to do a turn hear soon. I say this because before buying my computer i researched and found that Asus is one of the top for gamers and lately The best thing anybody has come up with lately is the bluetooth in the PS3. Believe me i use to be a big console fan but once you get a nice PC there's just no going back. The only thing i can think contending is the WII, but that's only for party's and hang out with friends when that PC chair gets old.

Well how about games like MGS4- Best game of the year 2008- and the upcoming GOW 3, Halo and so many console games which are really great. I have a gaming pc aswell as ps3 and games like prototype where you have many controls and options are better to be played with a joystick than a keyboard..since there are so many keys in the keyboard lol. It is more comfy! yes I play pc games using keyboard..like CS..COD..etc. However if you don't own a xbox or ps3 you are really missing out on so many high definition games out there!!cheers!!

Hey. What did u have to do to get it to recognize the analog sticks? Mine will recognize L3 and R3 but any movement/rotation of the two joysticks themselves won't register at all.
