That must be a cool job, fighting piracy. Is it true that 30% of internet traffic is piracy raffic? How do you even catch pirates anyway?
As for the E6320, it supposedly comes out April 22nd.
your like an internet Police man, do you get an Internet gun :Dadam0926basically. I spend all day searching for pirated websites. or pirated videos to take them down.
Good for you, we need people like you because Piracy drags down everything and drives up the prices on products for honest people.and im half way to my new pc. (almost) 4 more week and I got it.... (i finally got myself a job fighting piracy on the net, as an internet analyst)

That is a load of crap. Businesses use any excuse to drive prices up. I am not condoning piracy, just saying it is ridiculous that anyone would believe that the losses from piracy are so much that they need to drive prices up to compensate.
I will say, among knowledgable pc users, piracy might be more widespread, but the vast majority of the public wouldn't even know where to start.
It's almost as stupid as oil prices going up because of ridiculous reasons like "Rain in somalia" or something.

Do you honestly think because a company doesnt get sales on a disc that they simply never see that money and there are no other residual inherrant costs? First physically they lose cheap media, secondly because of any lesser amount of sales, and there is even if it's a small percent a company will lose some money, secondly they have to employ people to track thieves, shut down sites, sue sites, put together legal teams,, the governments get involved and have to dedicate law enforcement which means more taxes to continue to employ them. When you spend alot of money to make a product, like a game or movie, and there is no guarantee of a sale and your business has a low overhead which means you really do not make that much money you have to raise prices. Don't give me the evil corporation just wants your money load, there is alot more involved in prices than just greedy McCorporations trying to take your hard earned money. I tell you what why don't go learn about the low overhead most software and entertainment companies have.[QUOTE="dausley"][QUOTE="newbpwnage"](i finally got myself a job fighting piracy on the net, as an internet analyst)

I'm not saying that they don't lose money. It's just not enough to necessitate increased prices. I have yet to see a game company with a specific anti piracy employee. Usually game devs just license a product from another company, like securom or starforce. It's the mpaa and riaa who have anti-piracy agents.
Piracy is 100% legal in canada they cant do anything to you unless you are caught selling it and even if you have copywrited american products they cant do anything either because our government protects us..just to put that out there
