As you can see from the topic title, this opinion has been made up. Yes!
But what about you? What are your thoughts on a revised, "upgraded" Baldur's Gate and BG2?

Yeah. The game gets a good score for a reason. People still buy and play that same, over ten year old, game for the same reason. Only minor alterations are needed. Cosmetic.
The only reason I couldn't stand playing BG is because there's barely any VO. Without full VO this upgrade is useless
As long as they don't change the main story and the side quests and only add to it, then it can't be a bad thing, in my opinion.

Full voice acting would be nice, but not if they don't get the original voice actors. Well it's fine to get new people for the minor characters, random NPCs and stuff, but all the party members and main story characters need the original voice actors. Maybe they can find people that sound exactly the same.
As long as they don't change anything but eye candy then I'll be happy.Pvt_r3d
Also, maybe they'll add Unfinished Business to both, I wouldn't mind that added as well as visual improvements and widescreen support without need of a mod. If not mistaken, I think they'll have BG 1 running off BG 2 engine(it's what Tutu did).
the best way to improve baldur's gate is to make it turn based like temple of elemental evil. that would make me happy.
Gah I dont understand these rules you people keep talking about. How do these rules affect the game? What do they have to do with exactly? What do they affect exactly?I'm happy it still is 2nd edition.
The rest depends on what will be changed. UI enhancements, resolution, better sprites, no fog of war are all ok; the rest doesn't need alteration or additions imo.

Well the 'rules' are the gameplay! They define the effects of any action, for example if an attack will hit or if a spell will have full effect on target. Baldur's Gate is quite basically an strategy game with AD&D rules. It doesn't make a lot of difference as they fit organically into the gameplay, I just feel that the 2nd is more balanced. IW2 had 3rd ed. rules and it worked fine.
Bingo !! This is something that would get me TRULY excited about a BG remake.the best way to improve baldur's gate is to make it turn based like temple of elemental evil. that would make me happy.

If they imported the combat system from TOEE as an option I think I'd shed tears of joy. Baldurs gate needs true turn based combat.
