So, looking at my PC components I realized that the best hardware purchase I've made so far is my Logitech MX518 mouse. I bought it about 2 years ago and it is still working as good as day 1, all its buttons are working properly and the wheel is as precise as always, and taking into account that I use it every single day and I play mainly FPS games then I think that the MX518 is a super quality product that I'll be buying again in case my current one fails (nothing is forever...).

Second best purchase is my Wacom Intuos3 tablet, which I bought a few months ago.

So, What's your best HW purchase?

Hmm, I'd have to say my Logitech MX Revolution mouse. Once you have Hyper-Scroll there's no going back!

Mine would easily be my 8800 GTX. I got it when it first came out, and here it is almost 3 years later and I am just now seriously looking into upgrading.

I will be looking into the new coming up cards to finally replace this monster.

My Cooler Master HAF932 case. Keeps everything VERY cool and is basically silent. I can't believe how quiet it is, even though bigger fans have lower RPM's, but still. It's impressively quiet nonetheless and I don't see myself needing a new case anytime soon. It came with many cables and has so much room! But if you mean an actual component, then definitely my gtx285.

I recently got a deal on an EVGA X58 Classified. I got that and 6GB of DDR3 1600 for the same price as the EVGA X58 (Non-Classified) and the same RAM. I saved about $150 so I was pretty lucky :D

at the moment i'm very happy with my phenom II x3 720 be.. although it has yet to prove it's longevity, so i'm going to say my radeon x800xt pe (which was still doing it's job fairly well when i retired it about 6 months ago and i got for half the price) just wins it.

Probably either my Logitech z2300 system (used for $80 a year ago), or else my Razer eXactmat, which I found for only $20 on ebay. I have been so pleased with that purchase.

I bought a Rocketfish full-tower case from Best Buy for $53 when they were being clearanced out a year-and-a-half ago. That's basically a fully aluminum Lian-Li case for the cost of a generic midtower. Granted, it was (and is) more case then I'll ever likely need, but I don't see me replacing it any time soon.

Either my MX500 or my Klipsch ProMedia 4.1s. I don't use the MX500 any more but my girlfriend does and it works just as well as when I bought it. The ProMedias I've had for more than 8 years now and sound better than when I bought them.

If you want to go the longevity route I've been using the same set of Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 speakers since like 2002! Seven years of faithful service they've given me with no sign of retirement anytime soon. Now that I think about it, I wonder how much better a new set of Logitech's would sound... Edit: I compared the specs of my 5300's versus the Logitech Z-5500 that are so popular. LOL! My old speakers got smoked! The Z-5500's are down to $250 on Amazon too...

Probably my 22" widescreen monitor (LG L225WS) last year. Going from 1024x768 on a 15", up to 1680x1050 on a 22" was just incredible. I though it was a HUGE monitor when I got it. Now, not so much, but my old monitor looks laughably small now, with horrendous picture quality.

I would have to say that it was my first projector. I got it about the time that the XBox was released. Halo at 144" was spectacular. And lifesize demons in Doom 3 at XGA res was unbelievable...

MY SS Fortress FT-01 BW. I just love the way it looks especially with the sleeving job I did. I just gotta mod the DVD Drive with an aluminum cover so it matches the other non used 5.25 drive bays.

I'd say my latest build's parts was the best deal.

i7 920
Thermaright Ultra 120 eXtreme
6gb Corsair DDR3
Asus P6T Deluxe v.2
eVGA GTX 260 Superclocked
Thermaltake BlackWidow 750 watt PS

all for a wopping $750. THey were used...for a week or two. Guy was apparently hard up for cash.

my best purchase is a Samsung 226BW S. I paid a little more in order to guarantee its a Samsung panel and not a AU panel, but its the one thing that I still actually use.

I have alot of parts for my PC that I would consider to be good values/purchases... but you're going to laugh at this one. My keyboard is from a Gateway from 1999-2000. It still works PERFECTLY (knock on wood). I tried a wireless mouse/keyboard setup, but found that the keyboard didn't have as good a feel as this old one, and it kept eating batteries too fast. So I would honestly say that this was my best investment. All I had to do to get it was to fix that old Gateway tower for my dad's GF back in 2002 when she was having major problems! She game me the machine for fixing it! I've had this keyboard over 7 years and I'll probably keep it till it dies.

My best purchase was/is my Dell 2407WFP-HC 24" LCD. I love the screen size, colors and clarity. Using smaller monitors after getting used to a 24" screen is rather painful.

My second best purchase would have been my old 8800GT 512 MB...got it for a bargain as soon as it was released, and used it heavily for a year. Most bang-for buck video card I've ever owned.

The Logitech MX518 also comes high in the list...used it heavily for 2+ years and it's on a secondary system now...still keeps on ticking. My Razer deathadder performs better and is more comfortable to use, but I am already on the second one after the first one died (1.5 years of use).

Razer Deathadder for 15$ :P...My friend somehow didn't like it and he got it cheap from somewhere, he gave it to me for the same price he got it. He only used it for like 20 mins. Other than that my Samsung 22" T220 monitor. Been using it for 1 month and it is incredible, also my UD3R + Q9550 + OCZ Vendetta 2. Been serving me since 4 months with blazing fast performance. And my recently bought HD4890 which I truly rocks. And even the old E4500 that I got back in 2007 Christmas, still running on my sister's PC, serving her well along with the 9800GTX+ I bought on 2008 year end.

My best investment was a WD 20 Gb harddrive that lasted over ten years between four computers. Next would be my Logitech X-620 6.1 speakers since 2003 and they are still doing the job..

$20 CRT used from Craigslist.

Aside from the widescreen and desk space saved from my 22" Samsung 226BW LCD, I really liked the CRT more for better colour clarity, high amount of hertz for the refresh rate, and no input lag.

My 226BW is lying at the side of my table right now, not being used.

mine would be my antec 900 case. When i started my system, i got the best i could, new everything. And so far, i've replaced everything in this case, but the case itself, since christmas of 2007, so it's been great, the case itself is quiet, durable, and room for anything. i love it.

My HIS Radeon HD 4770 is pretty sweet. Can max out most games at my monitor's native resolution (1440 X 900) with great frame rate. I might get another one to CF if games start demanding more. My Logitech Rumblepad 2 is also pretty awesome too - too bad most games are steering towards the 360 controller.

I would say my new 4870x2, but I didn't buy it, my wife bought it for me for our anniversary.

I think my best purchase was probably my Corsair HX620 power supply. I got it on sale for like $90 and it's been awesome to me. I'm not going to need another power supply for a very long time.
