your dream game???

simply what is your dream game?

mine is something i hope to actually make later on in life...

well its a like mmo game, where it just starts off with a deserted planet earth, and like theres barely any people... well the players would each start off picking any avaible place on the globe, there area between say 2-10 acres depending on their area and rank.

well since the earth was totally deserted, you must use your 4 people go harvest food to survive, and trees and metals, and gold, silver, anything to help get your place going. you must then decide have your people breed, build housing, work more, start a farm, etc. eventaully you will start growing you place up to about 100 people(the game doesnt have random people, everyone must be birthed) you will become a small town, and you will gain a border, you can have you main person be a mayor, assign jobs, name your city, etc.

you must still keep advacning you technology(all in real time againts all the other players) and keep building. Remember since you got to pick your location, everywhere will have different stuff... so you may have to trade your lumber for gold, or fish, or what ever you need.

you keep advancing till you fave around 1000 people and you become a town. Your "mayor" will then become your main person... he may wish to continue building his own places, which you will have total control over, or people of the town may propose to build their own busniess, house, etc.

You will have to decide if your town will be a factory town, live off its bank, its farming etc... eventually you can start joining with other cites and become a state... you can eventually become a country(people who wish not to join will probably be destroyed) and you can play overseas...

depedning on how good you did, you will get points..

every month a new earth would open and you could start over...


anyways this game would be like a online sim city with so much control, wouldnt just be having people randomly join ur city, and u just placing a house and everything looking the same...
you would have to design all your places, and decide how everything works... you could have rich parts, poor parts...

you would have to be able to manage your resources, to not go hungry or run out of stuff. because you would have to be then trading all you stuff to try to get what you need. if you dont your people will up and leave to another town...

the whole game would be in real time, so like if a tornado comes by it still hits you even if your not on.

i second that, though one thing i really liked about quake 2 and 3, was that sonic mayhem did the music for it, and that was awesome...

but other than that quake 1 was the best quake without doubt, so yes i totally agree with you on that, just i hope sonic mayhem steps in and does atleast a few tracks for the game.

They're (Eidos Montreal) actually making Thief 4 (and Deus Ex 3) but you probably knew that already. Max Payne 3 would be kickass, but only if it's developed by Remedy.

Maybe not my ideal game, but that definitely would be fun. I'd buy it.

i have a few. also im talking at a gameplay or design philosophy level rather than a content leve. if i say mix zelda with morrowind..i dont mean set the game in hyrule or have link in tamriel. that would be silly.

for an RPG:

basically take zelda...and mix it with morrowind and bits of oblivion. zeldas combat and tight dungeon design and creature design, set in a fully realised and quite an interactive world with a customisable character. add in some great writing and a fully developed story and voila...excellence. however considering that a zelda title is in the oven for 3 years...make a game like that would probably take a decade. slight hitch there :S.

strategy game:

pikmin total war. its total war..with pikmin. do i really have to explain why that would be a classic?

FPS:

mix half life with metroid prime.

SPORE:

increase content by a factor of exactly 37. no more, no less :P.

Oh and that consciousness thing reminds me of Red Dwarf series 1 or 2 with the "Better Than Life" VR game, class.
