most of these aren't 'modern.' they're futuristic. but i'd go with cod4. then tf2. then bioshock.fireandcloud

ic. where's the orange box (or just episode 2)? and stalker? those two are the best two fps in recent years, imo.

Offline: Crysis

Online: TF2

I'm simply unable to compare an online game to an offline game, so I need to have both categories. Choosing which is the better of the two above would be like comparing an RTS to the time I found a porn magazine in a garage when I was 12. They're both awesome, but a little too different to really compare.

For me it's a toss up between CoD4 and Bioshock. Single player wise definitely Bioshock.

CoD4 though... I've never had more fun playing a multiplayer game than I have with that one. :) I can't say i've ever been a huge online FPS player as they usually annoy me, CoD4 i can play for long stretches and it's just fun fun fun!

TF2 is also very cool, but i prefer CoD4 as it looks more real and less cartoon-ish. :) Nothing against TF2 though, because it's awesome in it's own right.

Offline I would take Crysis.

Online would be Battlefield 2.

Team Fortress 2

STALKER had a damn good story, but I think Bioshock had a better. Plus they had wrenches :)

Crysis is futuristic like Battlefield 2142 not modern FPS

I don't really care for newer FPS. I loved Mirror's Edge but that doesn't really count.

Guess I'd have to say modded Far Cry. HL2 Episode One was also amazing, though (almost has good as HL1).

My Favorite from that list is Bioshock.

Battlefield 2 and CSS
