RPG.... even though the consoles are getting a lot of the same RPG's on them, I still think it's worth getting the PC version of them (unless the console version comes out first i.e. Mass Effect). Then there's NWN 2 and the Witcher that are PC exclusive and all the old great RPG's that still work on today's systems.
FPS' now. They are the most immersive and generally the most graphically impressive. I like a good story.

COH has restored my faith and interest in the genre somewhat...
Whatver S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, System Shock 2, Deus Ex and Thief: The Dark Project fall into.foxhound_fox
I agree with him .... (well except for STALKER which has aspects that are just too repetitive for my liking) but the others are definitely up my tree!

I wonder why Turn Based Strategy games are usually left out of the mix ? ....there are many very good ones that never really get talked about.

First Person Shooter and Real Time Strategy.
I like other genres, but I've been playing those for as long as I can remember, in terms of gaming.
