GTA IV - Few games can match the level of detail in that game. It is close to a masterpiece. biggest_loser

Super awesome game. And the PC version looks so much better than the consoles. I just wish it were better optimized, and that the latest patch didn't completely break it.

Although it's damn near impossible to single out just one game among all the great titles, Dragon Age:Origins comes to mind. And Half Life 2, and Anno 1404 etc.....

If we're talking about something that offered not only enjoyment but a considerable amount of gameplay and content, WoW for MMO, GTA for TPS, Witcher for RPG, Trackmania for racing, Killing Floor for FPS (TF 2 is close, but only the time I played is close, idle time is way over and that makes it not even a 2nd choice), Starcraft for RTS, Heroes of Might and Magic for TBS, Diablo for its kind of RPG, Dungeon Defenders for tower defense/RPG and Assassin's Creed for adventure.

If we're talking about pure quality and enjoyment, there is only one change to my list, FPS, this year's Syndicate took KF's place and then some, it's an outstanding, exciting and unique game (people think CoD is the zenith of intense and exciting gameplay? - even if mindless - they never tried Syndicate, it's at least 4 times better at what CoD does best).

The Witcher series and Dead Space come to mind. It's hard to like the entire series of a game, because usually the sequel never lives up to the original.Elann2008

i wish there was one. it ended with baldurs gate. i suppose left 4 dead.

it's difficult to see past the gta games as far as best series goes, although it would have to best of the last 11 years to include gta 3, in terms of my favourite series it's up there with the half life 2, crysis, stalker and first three splinter cell games.

as far as best game goes its a tie between the best of each series - crysis1, soc, hl2, gta vice city and chaos theory

Over the past 10 years..DoW I + it's expansions...Forget DoW II

Anything before that...The Mechwarrior Series.

Warcraft and diablo series..I guess the diablo series is beyond 10 years now though :p

Mass Effect will probably be favourite. Although if Borderlands 2 is good, then come September Borderlands series will be my fave
