For me it was Medal of Honor when I was in the landing craft just having spawned there at the beginning of the game. I was freaking when the first WHOOM of artillery hit the water next to us. Then, I saw a landing craft get hit and the bodies flew in the air. I thought WOW this won't be toped. I was wrong. When the gate dropped and I hit the beach a hail of gun fire rained down like hell on earth. The bullets were whizzing by and I thought there was no way I could survive this. But I did and made it to the low sea wall.

This MOH moment was the most immersive moment i had ever experienced. This topped even my love of boss battles in Quake.

Here is a video of exactly what I remembered:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF3zyFdeyIo&feature=related

and,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwVXvGPSRnI&feature=related

The above link is a great video of the D-Day portion of the game.

Why so many edits? I was learning how to make links.

A couple of favorites...

Quest for Glory 1: When you first exit the town into the forest, the game's main theme plays and a message appears:

"The breeze is cool, but you feel a shiver deeper than
just the cold. You are on your own in a very dangerous place."

And this is probably the most memorable scene ever in an RTS. I swear, a game has never made me feel so sad, alone, and afraid.

Remember when MOH and Call of Duty were fighting to be the number one WWII action game. Check out what COD2 did compared to MOH with the landing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkGTQaerH_8&feature=related

Of course, MOHAA won the battle, but ultimately the COD series won the war.

Why so many edits? I was learning how to make links.

-Knife Fight in CS:Condition Zero.

-Inviting my neighbors over to trap them in a 4x4 square box and then let the fast forward button fly in The Sims.

-Building my own theme Park in Roller Coaster Tycoon 2.

-Playing Fetch with Dog in Half Life 2.

-Engaging in a 32 player match in TF2 with all Heavy melee in addition to the soundboards.

-Base camping the opposing team in Battlefield 2 with the fighter jet.

-Frag festing in a 50 player team death match in Call of Duty 4 on Chinatwon level with Biggest Loser, lol...

Just so many great moments bud, but great thread nevertheless, it never gets old..

Taking on a Cyberdemon with a Friend in Doom 2 with only handguns on "hurt me plenty mode" Took us a really long time since when one died the other had to hide so their buddy could respawn. A whole lot of fun though running away from it together with missiles flying past us.

Either in Homeworld 2 with Hiigara under attack... first time I played it I wasn't fast enough and it was hit by a couple of nukes... but at the same time there were epic battleship battles going on, and of course I had Sajuuk or whatever it is called just tearing through everything.

Or the other day on TF2 when I got 3 dominations one after the other using the heavy. That music that plays just kept going and my heavy was yelling in triumph and the enemy was running away from me single handedly (granted I had just been ubered and had a medic but, I took out 3 SG's and killed about 8 of their 16 person team).

Or the end to Half-Life 2: Episode 2... (or all of Half-Life 2)

Or in Halo 2 when you see In Amber Clad jump into High Charity and it flies right over your head... I thought that was pretty awesome.

There are too many to choose!

So many to choose from so.

-Almost all of X-Wing Alliance, one of the most immersive and entertaining space sims that mixed in with a great story. Being int he Star Wars universe didn't hurt it either.

-My first solo kill in Eve Online

-My entire first playthrough of Planescape: Torment

-From the twist onward towards the end in Knight of the Old Republic

-Winning my first 10 player game for Sins of a Solar Empire, talk about epic.

-First few hours of Indigo Prophecy. I laughed, I feared, I cried.

-The ladder incident in FEAR. Had a phobia of ladders for a few weeks after.

-The Longest Journey. One of the greatest stories ever told.

-Loading of Star Wars Galaxies for the first time.

Quite a few more but those are the ones that jump at me the most.

The one from the top of my mind happened in TF2.

Three snipers with one crit rocket... just priceless.

Also TF2, I managed to backstab four snipers and some other class(cant remember) in the enemy battlements. This was during the backstab animation era.

Situated on the Northern Post Bunker near the shore in Wake Island in Battlefield 2. It's all quiet, and I'm the only one that's there, waiting for the enemy to reach the shore from their Carrier. The silence chills through my bones as the wind blows against the trees. I'm just waiting, waiting for something to happen. Something unexpected . . . .

BOOM! There it goes! Enemy Aircraft bombarding us while US Soldiers storm up the beach. I blindly shot at them but had to reload. I ducked and tried to get out of the bunker, trying to save myself. But it was too late. I was already dead.

The Witcher, when you tell Alvin that his condition is a "gift" and must be used to help others. He then disappears, but you meet up with him again as Jacques De Aldesburg. He then tells you that everything he's doing is to help others, because that's what you told him he should do with his gift. If you played the game fully, you will know what I'm talking about and it's truly gut-wrenching...all the death and suffering occuring because you said one simple line to Alvin.

The Witcher - 3 times in the chapter of Murky Waters - 1.The way Celina freakishly roams the fields in the day. 2. The moment Adam kills himself to stop Celina from being a noon wraith. 3. When Celina's husband(dont rememmber his name)tells Geralt the story about his grandfather's diamond.

The witcher lacks in so so many places (gameplay wise) but the wonderful atmosphere and storyline more then compensate for it. It has an array of gameplay issues and it is still the best game i have ever played. It made a huge mark on me...an exprience i will never forget.

Oohhh difficult question to answer TC, i like most people here don't have just one moment.

1. Omaha Beach MOHAA

2.First time running around the mountains of Seydna in Morrowind

3. D-Day level of Unreal Tournament GOTY I was on the defending side and I went up to one of the towers and sniped the entire time and I didin't let a single person go inside the bunker XD. (Online btw)

4.Winning a 1 VS 7 Hardest CPU in AOC in Black Forest (Favorite map)(Teutons FTW!)

5.Watching the final video of the Protoss campaign in Starcraft, and the ending of that Terran campaign level where u had to protect the zerg but they could attack you. (Massive zerg rush anyone?)

There's so many more but I'm just too lazy. :P

Playing Delta Force 2 online for the first time. I thought it was amazing how you could go anywhere ( you can go pretty damn far in any map in the game). OR MAYBE starting out in WoW, making friends, joining an awesome guild, exploring the World of Warcraft. Exploring is the most fun thing to do in a massive game, imo.

There are so many but I'll say a few recent ones.

-When Shepard takes control of the Normandy (it was so epic, the atmophere, the lines, all of it, the annoying part was when it all stopped when you had to choose what to say, but it was awesome :))

-Mass Effect, the ending

-Fallout 3 - When you exit the Vault

Fallout 3 - whenever in VATs you get critical strike headshot, which instantly kills the person and blows their body apart. It all goes extra slow, like bullet time and you see the bullet entering and the head leaving its shoulders. Every time I get that I go OOOOOH. Epic.

i enjoyed that too, but the best i can remember now is in cod4 at the end, when the russian guy shoots your teamates (even the one who was draggin you to safety) and cpt price threw me the pistol and i was like BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM!!!, in his lower region first to inflict the most pain then his body guards. Just feel so good to get revenge for your teamates.

Splinter Cell: CT coop held some good times. BF 1942 has so many amazing and funny moments I can't begin to remember them all. Actually all of the PC exclusive BF games were memorable for me. More recently, Left 4 dead is great with friends in VS mode. GTA IV was just Epic. Oh wait, Empire: Total War. That is the one for me.

A Vietnam game online and the subject was survival and victory. I went for the flag the same time someone else did, and little did I know that I didn't have it, but I thought I did!. Anyway, I ran back through the forest and an enemy was blocking my path at the little river, I had to stay and hide and I was actually shaking. He went away and I went to the left of the river and came across another enemy who I killed with my pistol. I hid again because my health was low, waited a while then ran for it back to base. When I realised I never had the flag all along I thought... well I dunno what I thought, but if I did have the flag it would have been my greatest survival and victory moment in online gaming.
