17 favs and 284 under games, don't usually favorite games, mostly games with sepparate online components and such end up under favorites for easier delimitation, like CoD and its multiple exes.
All Games: 143 (Doesn't inlcude games from the F2P section of Steam)
Favourite: 0
Installed (Home): ~30 (not at home right now so no way of checking how many I have installed)
Installed (Portable HDD): 34
I do use categories as it's easier to find a game when I want to install it. Otherwise, I just use the installed tab.For the people that dont use favorites; are you using custom categories?

My favorite list is where I keep the games I'm currently playing. That can range from I have played it this day to this week. If I have a game on there I don't play anymore I remove it from the list. So it's more like a current favorites list
My other games are divided into categories, per publisher if I have a lot of games from one publisher. I have about 142 games and 61 are installed
I actually sorted my lists by genre, with one entry for the games I'm playing now and one for games I beat. So no favorites...
I have 184 games, 69 installed

If I have 3 or more games from the same series, than they get their own category

LOL, yeah... All sorts of games I got as parts of bundles that I don't wish to play or games like Ricochet which I got with the HL2 silver edition.
I use favorites to keep track of my installed games since that category is always listed first.ssvegeta555You can sort your list by status.

Favourites: 12
Games: 5
That's including the F2P stuff I have installed. Exclude those it's way, way down ther and exclude games that are non steam games that I added to my Steam list then it's like only five real games and like two are in favourites and three are in games.
I've got around twenty games in my favorites. Half of them I'd call my true favorites, but the other half are games I put there because I figure I'll go back to them again.
Then I have my "Currently Playing" list which has a couple multiplayer games, and obviously what I'm currently playing which is Civ V, Metro 2033, and Morrowind.

I have 10 categories for my games on Steam to help manage the backlog more then anything:
-Buggy Trash is obvious.
-Collection Only are games I bought just to have and never to beat.
-Finished is games I never intend to play again.
-Finished but replayable is obvious.
-MMO is obvious.
-On Hold is games I've put aside for a variety of reasons, but I plan to finish down the road.
-Scenario Based is multiplayer stuff mostly.
-Trash is obvious.
-Why Do I Own This? Is full of bad games someone gifted me at one time or another.
-Games is the actual backlog that I have left.
So is my OCD showing yet?

I actually like that a lot. I think I'm gonna start doing what you're doing :P.
Right now I have games; favourites (just for quick access at first, but then I realized I'm only playing about 2-3 games during a long stretch and I can just right click the system tray icon); uninstalled (mostly for Mac duplicates/beta icons, and stuff I'm probably not going to play); and a Must Play category for stuff that I feel I have to get on nowish, otherwise I never will. That category includes Galactic Civilizations II, GTA: San Andreas, Hitman Blood Money, The Walking Dead, and World in Conflict.
