There was only one level in that game that I really enjoyed, which was the level that was showcased in many of their presentations with the water dam. It has nice graphics, but the rest of the campaign was forgettable. You could see they were trying to cater to both the Crysis 1 and Crysis 2 fanbase, but it didn't really worked out, in my opinion.Â
Terrible game.By far the worst in the series. It also a perfect example of why good graphics don't make a good game.
Crytek should be ashamed for releasing this disgrace.
Crysis: Warhead was a great mix of more linear while remaining open. imo it's one of the best expansion pack made and leagues better than Crysis 2/3.
As soon as it hit consoles most people could see a mile away what was coming.
freaking incredible game.
brings back the gameplay of the original, but keeps it focused with a less sandboxy environment, which is a good thing.
and, personally, I enjoyed the plot a lot.
Crysis 3 is the worst game in the Crysis series. Its actually more of a technology showcase than a game. Its so dull and boring. If you're suffering from insomnia, you don't have to take any pills. Just play Crysis 3, and its sure to make you doze off on your keyboard. Its really THAT boring. Only good thing about the game is its amazing graphics. And unless you play on the hardest available difficulty (there are 5 difficulty levels, I think), the game is super easy and never offers any real challenge. Like an idiot I bought it at full price when it came out.
very disappointing for lots of reasons. i couldn't take psycho's character seriously. he looked and sounded more like an eastenders (crappy uk cockney soap) fat market trader than a soldier.
and even though the graphics were amazing, and it seemed more open than crysis 2, i wasn't a fan of a lot of the levels- none of them stood out as particularly memorable and i didn't enjoy battling the aliens. i think i made it about two thirds through the game before sheer boredom prevented me from playing any further

for the terminally depressed, maybe.
and is that psycho or phil mitchell? i can't tell  :?
What I do not understand is where all the hate comes from when, relative to most other well-received FPSs, Crysis 3 plays just as well and better in some cases.
I mean, I've played the latest Bioshock, Halo, Call of Duty, and so forth and, outside of the run-of-the-mill hater that those games get, Crysis 3 seems to actually get legitimate hate, when (imo) the basic fundamental gameplay is much, much better then all of them.
The problem for me is, they took everything that made C1 unique and fun and threw it away. What I do not understand is where all the hate comes from when, relative to most other well-received FPSs, Crysis 3 plays just as well and better in some cases.

i really wanted to like it but playing it was just... a struggle. i found myself cloaking through chunks of the game because i was just simply bored.
fundamental gameplay is a bit of a subjective area. if you're talking shooting mechanics then i agree they were nice. i'd consider other fundamental aspects of a shooter to be things like the level design, the quality of the enemies in terms of the enjoyment of the battle and their ai, the set pieces, even story and characters etc but imo most of these were just poor and as the last in a trilogy (or quadrilogy if you include warhead) it was all rather anti-climatic and very much a case of 'been there, done that... is this it?' for the record i haven't really enjoyed a cod sp since mw1 and i didn't enjoy halo 4 either.Â
i might give it another go somewhere down the line but i was genuinely disappointed with it. strangely i quite enjoyed crysis 2... go figure Â

Yeah, exactly the same case with me. My only gripe with Crysis 2 was that it wasn't an open world sandbox game, like all previous Crytek games. But if you consider it on its own merit, it is quite enjoyable, and much better than most other generic shooters like COD. But with Crysis 3, even though they made the areas larger to make it look like a sandbox game (it wasn't), it was just too damn dull and boring. And unless played on the highest difficulty, its too easy and doesn't offer even a remote challenge.
Best graphics in any game available at the moment, but the gameplay is disposable.KHAndAnime
I would say that for just about every FPS out there now that is released.. The last FPS I thouroughly enjoyed was Deus Ex Human Revolution.. I am still baffled the kind of pub Bioshock Infinite got with it' medicore gameplay, slap dash story, and atmosphere which basically crumbled half way through.

i agree. and it wasn't perfect but i really enjoyed deus ex hr too. possibly my favourite shooter-hybrid since stalker cop despite the ill-judged boss battles. because it was multi-layered. it made you use your brain. you could adopt different playing styles / tactics etc. it gave you freedom of sorts. it had a story. games like these are few and far between
