I just reacently started playing it, and at first I was amazed and drawn in by the intense and fun gameplay. But it soon got quite repetetive and I just can't bring myself to pick it up again. What do you think about it? Is it worth it to play it through?

It's only 6 or 7 hours long so it's pretty surprising to me that you found it repetitive. I liked it because I went in knowing what to expect, a quick "popcorn" explosive shooter. I didn't try for all of the combos that hard and the environments were pretty varied considering how short the game is.

I thought it was awesome! One day I'll go back and see if I can play through it in one sitting.

Decent game, but was such a hassle to run it right on my rig. Had to do all the tweaks in the Steam forums to make it run decently.

Every FPS seems repetitive to me. Bulletstorm is no exception. I liked it although it's a one-trick pony. Once you're done, you're done. Very little replay value. But, I bought mine retail for $20. It was worth it.

Edit: Pretty game with more than a passing resemblance to the Gears of War series. It's one of the few games to stay at 60fps, 1080p, maxed out details, and AA at all times on my PC.

Funny, I thought it was bad for the first hour then got great. Funny game, fast action and the skillshot system is a geniune step ahead for the genre. Would have been awesome if you could co-op the campaign. Very good game.

Pretty much the same as you. Thought it was very fun at first, then after a few hours it felt like I had experienced everything it had to offer, I got bored and didn't feel like finishing it.

Yes, it gets repetitive, but literally every brainless shooter is like that, more of the same all the time.

Although I bought it months ago, I just started to play it today. For a brainless shooter, I must say that it is the best one in recent times. If all you have to do is kill everything that moves, better have several ways to do it than just shoot.

I feel though a waste of such a beautiful and immersive environment, during the gameplay I kept imagining a complex game such as Fallout 3 using that engine: it would be wonderful to have an engaging story in Bulletstorm and take your time exploring, sorting things out, leveling up, that kind of stuff.

It had the potential to become a great game like Bioshock, but the developers focused on something more like Duke Nukem: their choice, what can we do?

It is a very good game for its purposes, nonetheless.

I bought it for $5 during the steam sale. I had a lot of fun with it. I beat it in 6 hours though, which isn't that good. I don't consider myself to be particularly fast at beating games either. I loved the environments. They were the best in any FPS I have played recently. When they make a sequel (and they better make one) I hope it's longer.

The best part was the ending. I'm kinda looking forward to what could happen in Bulletstorm 2 but I think it flopped? I guess no sequel.

big disappointment for me. i can handle brainless shooters but even by those standards bulletsorm was shallow, lightweight and just did not satisfy in the gunplay department

2011 was a great year for FPS. RAGE, Crysis 2, Bulletstorm …

Its a good game because the levels are dotted with shops where you can redeem points above ammunition, upgrades or new weapons...

It was weird for me. I loved the gonzo action, insane weaponry, upgrade system, unique kills and scoring system.

On the other hand, the story took itself seriously and wasn't that great, the game lacked polish (with a few levels I played requiring a full restart due to some weird bug), there were balance issues with some of the weapons (specifically the slow mo sniper rifle which became kind of useless when every enemy decided to get Matrix skills and dodge my bullets), and the modern day things like QTE's, regenerating health and weapon limits kept it from feeling like a respite from modern shooters that it should have been.

Well, that was kinda the idee behind the sniper rifle: the enemies dodge, you adjust the trajectory of your bullet. Did you not figure this out?

The sniper rifle was my favorite weapon in the game. Should past an enemy, then make a 90 degree turn with the bullet and hit him in the back.

The only real downside is that it is a very short game, you can blow through it in about 5-6 hours.

Its just the dumbest idea in the world. Instead of an instant one shot instant kill where you are pointing at, you get a rifle with a bullet that slows down so much enemies can run away from it, which makes the feature useless and doesn't make sense from a design perspective. It actually makes the gun less convenient and useful and makes some of the killshots a chore, not to mention the glitch where time is slow after leaving sniper mode.

Either you haven't played the game, or you didn't figure out how to use the sniper rifle.

This. I'm not sure what he was expecting from Bulletstorm as a "PC game?" It's not like we're talking about an RPG game here. It was a good console port. Game ran well.

I got it for $5. It was a great game for $5. The dialog was pretty funny. It was worth it. I had more fun with that than many other games I purchased.

So true. And I got it for $5. Also got Metro for $5. Love when great games go no sale. It feels good to be a PC gamer. :)

You are right, definitely one of my best experiences as a sniper; when you get a headshot, is priceless!

Few minutes ago I missed a target and immediately saw one of those explosive barrels. redirected the bullet and managed to kill the target after all.

if you can get it for $5 its easily worth that price. It was fun and interesting, especially trying to do the trick shots. It had no replay value for me. It lasts around 10 hours and is engaging through out. $5 for 10 hours of entertainment. Worth it IMO.

It's a fun FPS, better than the majority of them but not as good as Metro 2033, Crysis or STALKER.

I'd love one, but I know you're being a sarcastic douche. My point is that there is no way in hell the game can take 10 hours, not unless you leave it running while not playing it for a couple of hours.

I think I'm nearly beating the game now. One good piece of fun! And a marvel to look at. But I do feel such beautiful environments deserve a more complex game with a better story though...
