Inspired by the RPGs thread... are there any adventure gamers still out there???

These games got me into PC gaming to begin with (well... besides Doom and X-Wing)

Mine, in no particular order:

1. Space Quest IV

2. Kings Quest V

3. Dreamweb

4. Rise of the Dragon

5. Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within

6. Gabriel Knight 1

7. The Legend of Kyrandia

8. The Day of the Tentacle

9. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

10. The Secret of Monkey Island

As I started to go through that I started to remember more but I'll just stick with that for now.

HOW did I forget Full Throttle and Sam & Max?? Those definitely should have been on my list.

And I was going to mention Fahrenheit... do you think that qualifies as an adventure game?

And so The Longest Journey is really that good, hm? That's another one I let get away.

If you haven't played it, get the free (last I knew) game called "5 Days a Stranger." VERY compelling story and very interesting gameplay. I couldn't stop til I finished it. There's a sequel that's a bit of a rehash of the first one.

There are actually four games in that series, with the fourth game tying them all together in a very awesome way. But yeah, I highly recommend them.

I've done a great job over the last 20+ years to play all the best and influential games on PC. Gone out of my way to make sure i have played all of the MUST PLAY pc games over the years, but The Longest Journey is one i am ashamed to say i havn't played. I did play the sequel and it was good, but from alot of my friends who love the series say the first is definatly alot better then the sequel.

There are not many pc games i MUST PLAY before i die one day, but Longest Journey is one of them, not only because of the great praise its gotten, but because it looks exactly like my type of game, just never got around to buying it. Its on my list of next games to get though online ;)

I love the older adventure games and im definatly a bit of goof for not having tried this yet hehe.

I'm right there with you. It's really a matter of finding the hours to play it
