I gave in and finaly bought a ps2 with God of War 1 and must admit that I am now a fan. GOW kicks so much A it's rediculous. I will always be a Nintendo fan first and foremost but will be a GOW and PS2 fan from now on as well.
I was like you...but I got tired of budokai 2(thats one of the latest good dragonball game for gamecube xD) and thats when I bought my ps2 now I play tenkaichi 2 which kicks ass xD
God of war is an awesomegame as well, but they went too far with all the blood thingy it seems unreal at times.
Devil ma cry 3 its good too, but kind of hard at times.
There is tons of great games and cheap ones too, enjoy your new system ^^
