Do you ever play a game and reach a place where you keep losing and losing, until you get fed up and quit the game and dont play it again? I have this with Grandia 3, iam next to the final boss and I can't beat him, i just quit, i havent played the game since last year...but the save is still there :), so what about you?

I usually dont quit cause Im at a difficult boss or something, the reason is usually I get a bit bored of the game so I figure Ill leave it alone awhile and then the months pass and I really dont feel like picking up on the game again cause I forgot most stuff that had happened in it.

I am a BIG quitter!
I just quitted Need for Speed Carbon, i am currently STUCK on the last map where you have to race 4 tracks without a stop or car change or save... each one harder than the last one and its so hard my hands almost caught on fire and my head almost exploded (if its not hard for you then good for you).
I also quitted big fancy games like Final Fantasy XII and Okami just because i was bored out of my freaking mind! (no disrespect they are both cool games but i dunno... i guess i just got them because their so famous.)
Another game that i quitted but I was looking for it for a long time is Legaia 2, for those of you who doesnt know... Legaia 2 is the sequel to the awesome game Legend of Legaia for Psone, so yeah i basically got that game because i loved the first one so much, but i quitted basically on the beginning where your three heroes go under the city in the sewers so they can enter the castle... damn that place is BORING!

So yeah i am a big quitter there are also tons of other games but if I were to say every game i quit i think gamespot would ban me or something you know? So i am such a BIG quitter that i am currently quitting PS2 and am going to buy a Xbox360, i mean praticly every cool game for PS3 is being release for Xbox360 so i dunno why people think PS3 is way superior since even the graphics are the same (please no fight... thats my opinion).
Also im going to the Xbox360 because i LOVED Fable (wich i played for the PC) so Fable 2 is definetly something i am looking forward!

I quit San Andreas once I hit the last city because I was so tired of the same old thing. The game just seemed to get too goofy and the graphics got worse and worse. It all seemed so pointless. I quit The Warriors because I hate the camera and controls. I thought the game was awesome, but it gave me a headache. I don't have much time either so when I'm done with being entertained, I'll move on to something else. If I'm bored half way, I'm not going to push myself.

Not really, my problem is I get better games that then keep me distracted so I dont' get around to finishing the game, with time and perserverance there's no problem you can't overcome...although Stella Deus and it's ridiculous up and down difficulty spikes are getting on my nerves as of late.

I always get to a point where I'm just sick of losing so I switch to another game but in an hour or so I start to think about the game and I can't help myself so I'll put it back in and lose a few times and then the same thing again.  Until I win.  I can't let the game win because I own the game, that's not a good thing to do to yourself.

I quit on ridiculous side quests. I havent finished lightning dodging and the chocobo races of Final Fantasy X. And i havent finshed hakox in Xenosaga 3. If something is more frustrating and cheap then fun then why bother doing it?

try with different tactic. i beat it in 3rd try so i cant say its hard. i didnt even have acceleration spells or whatever they are called. use yuki's best move with that random damage sword, it made huge damage 2 times out of 3 tries in my last battle.

about topic, no i'm not a quitter. if i'm pissed, i just close the game and when i open my ps2 again, i play calmly and pass wherever i'm stuck in first try or in second.

Sure, some games just suck...

It really depends on how much I like a game.  If it's a game i'm really into, i'll play the same level & fight the same boss over and over until I beat it.  If it's a game I just marginally like, i'm not going to keep repeating the same crap over and over, i'll just quit and move on to the next game (if there are no cheats).

And what is it with games no longer having the save-at-will feature?  Most games now only save at designated save points.  That sucks, IMO.  I hate repetition, unless it's a great game.

To me, games are all about fun. Not beating them, or beating others in competition. The second I stop having fun with a game, it gets dropped. I rarely ever go back to finish them.

Colosseum: Road to Freedom is the only game I've ever given up on.  The final boss for me was impossible, he kept killing me with his cheap special moves and I kept dying.  I gave up do to frustration, as well as the fact that you need to watch a 10 minute cutscene before you fight him every time, so it got really annoying to sit there for 10 minutes and then get your ass handed to you on a silver platter in less than 2 minutes.

I get frustrated easy. I mainly play games to have fun and unwind from my day. So, if I get frustrated to a point where it's just not fun anymore I'll either cheat or quit. I prefer to get a little cheat help because I don't like leaving a game unfinished.

without a doubt. sometimes you have to take a break, it helps, you think about things differently in the game then. time sometimes makes a level or boss get easier because it help you break the pattern you have created to play the game.

Same here although I quit DQVIII coz it was so ugly. At least I played it for an hour. Man that game is ugly. Worst way to spend 90 dollars (Nope, not a limited edition, I just happen to live in Europe). I've always hated series like Naruto, One Piece and specifically Dragon Ball because they are drawn ugly (not to mention bad script, though One Piece ain't that bad but it sure is ugly) and yet I bought a game with characters designed by Toriyama. How shameful.

PS. Bleach looks pretty bad too, it's like every other episode is drawn by just some random nobody who has never even seen anime in his/her life. It's just so ugly. Just what happened to Bleach? At least the manga still looks great. Though I'd like to be able to watch the anime too y'know. Man do I hate the shading. It's just plain bad. Can't really compare to Death Note or Claymore... nah, Bleach is still great though they should really kill off those stupid Muppets. Or just send em to Soul Society or something. I mean they are onscreen more than Ichigo, and Ichigo is the main protagonist. Gin should totally steal the title from Ichigo. Now that would be great.

I laugh at people who quit playing games nowadays because they're "hard". Not counting the few exceptions, that almost become known because of their difficulty, most games made now are pathetically easy. Often with settings to make them a cakewalk, and that's not counting the plethora of cheat codes programmers include.

I do however often get flustered due to puzzles in games. Often in such things akin to Zelda and the such. Mostly due to me being more annoyed by the design and limitations therein instead of genuinely being stuck. Often I'll have a solution in mind that could work easily but due to game design and obscere hints on the developers part.

Moreso out of boredom than anything. Admittedly I play games for mindless fun to take my mind off of things, and often to just enjoy myself. Difficult sections because of reaction time or twitch gameplay is fine. Using my noggin to exttremes because some "clever" programmer is not fun (but can be if enjoyable, a la Zelda). Thus why i absolutely used to abhore point and click PC games, despite them sometimes having great dialogue and stories.

I usually quit if a game gets too boring for me, not because it's too hard. If there's a hard mode, I might try a bit and quit then, but not because I'm fed up but because I don't think it's worth my time to trial and error my way through it.
