Sooo I've been wanting FFX forever now, and I've seen it at this shop for $15 used, but never bought it.
Today I went to EBGames and saw it for 24.99 used... um NO THANKS.
So then I went to this other used outlet and they had it for 9.99!!!!!!! so i SNATCHED it up QUICKLY along with San andreas for 9.99 too.

the moral of this story is: NEVER buy from EBgames and always buy your games from a local used outlet only.

Please share some of your good deals that you bought from a store other than EBGames.

BOYCOTT EBGAMES!!

Games and EBgames sucks and I never buy from them because they're way too expensive.

I prefer buying from two nearby stores that's much cheaper. :D

I should ask the same? Are you kidding? Some games are like 10-20 $ more expensive than where I buy from.
Don't know how it's in the U.S but that's how it is in Sweden at least!

I don't have an EBGames. I have a Gamestop and Software Etc., though. There's nowhere else that sells games as cheap as those places... That I know of, of coarse.

I have gotten many a great deal @ EB Games. I just scored Fatal Frame 2 for $20, near mint. Can't complain. They do charge more because they are a specialty shop. I do agree that the ultra deals are to be found at small shops. I just got an mega treasure of Suikoden for psone $15 v. good condition @ a pawn shop. Hunt pawn shops and check eb games....both are sure to reward the discerning gamer.

the only problem with that thought process is, some of us don't have local shops and have to go to eb games.

Eb games is good when you want a preticular game but places like sears have games (espicially ps2) that are as cheap as 10 dollars but you wold have to wait a long time for a game to be there and all the good games are probuly gone by then.EB games you can get a used game that is no more than a few months old for 5 or 6 dollars off. Also you can find used cheap games that are actully nice.

I often buy at EB, I buy at Futureshop often cuz of the preferred customer sales. The problem with the local stores that I've found is the quality of the used discs. I try not to buy used anywhere, but if it's an old game that's worth it then I do. Good buy though, it was a good game

I just go to Gamestop anyways, because its a 5 minute drive from my house. Other places that sell games are just too much a drive. Gas money plays a factor when I go shopping too, not just the price of games.

I go to EB Games/Gamestop because they have tons of rare used games. I found Quake 3: Revolution for $14.99. I also got a two for $9.99 deal of King of Fighters: Maximum Impact and KoF: MI - Maniax.

I was thinking about buying Manhunt 2 for $30 new. xD

deals, deals, deals.....

I shop at Gamestop, but only when they have great deals. They throw a "buy 2, get 1" free deal on alot. They have price cuts in their weekly adds, plus, I personally think they give you a very fair amount for buying your used games. Some games they may not, but they nearly always give close to and more than 50% of their resale price. Plus they usually have a plus 10, 20, and 30 percent more trade in value when you trade in 3, 4, or 5 games at once. Plus an extra 10 percent if you have the Edge card.

Moral of the story is, if you take advantage of the deals at Gamestop, I think they'revery generous when it comes to trade in values, and buying games. As someone already mentioned too, they're the biggest game retailer in the country, and have money back gaurantees on everything in the store, so if something doesn't work right, getting a refund or exchange is painless.

^^ I never trade in my games to EB anymore, I've found this other store that gives you exactly 50% back of what they are selling it for, and that's just cash. they give you more if it's for credit.
If I were to sell FFX to my local store I would get $7 cashbecause they sell it for $15. ($8.50 credit)
If I were to sell it to EB, they would give me $5 credit, and they sell it for $25 at my store.
EB gives less money to you bceause they are already full of stock and don't need anymore games.

We have a couple local Allied Record Exchange store's that have some good deals from time to time. However, the atmosphere in their stores is uncomfortable for some reason, and the staff always follows you around, which can be annoying.

Well, each store varies really. I always go to different stores such as walmart, superstore, sony store, and EB Games. Though I always check EB Games first because of the fact that they have tons of rare and used games which cost like $10-$45.:)

EBGames gives you too little when you trade in your games and they sell games for much more than what they are supposed to cost.

I usually go to Gamestop...or just trade games with friends...I remember trading these yu-gi-oh cards for ps2 games...lol

Even so there is a difference in prices, I remember getting Bomberman Generation for gamecube on Gamestop for $20 then went to EBGames with a friend and saw it for $30...and since I'm comparing prices, I also saw it on wal-mart for $50...low prices my balls, stupid wal-mart xD

...and how much did you spend? A game that you didn't even like, I wonder..... 10 bucks is a good bargin price. The game goes foraround 20bucks sealed....

you can generally get MGS2:SOL and MGS3:Snake Eater for under 10 bucks, as well. Although... I suggest getting Subsistence instead of Snake Eater.... Feel that the bonuses are worth the extra cash.
