I don't think violence and blood on rpg's or any other genre  is  a "must" formula for making a good game. But that's my view. Take OKAMI for example. Also... it really depends on the type (the main theme) of game the developer is making. So it is a very subjective occurrence.Â

Gore isn't required to have a good game (look at I love Katamari, or Prince of Persia)...However, it's something that makes some games better...Games like Scarface...I think Scarface is a good game, but if I shoot someone and all they do if fall over, it takes away from the experience...it needs the blood and gore.
definatley yes!!
I mean...just look at the begining battle of FF12...like 1000s of bodies...but no blood...wtf?!?!?!?
...but not like leters of blood anyone agree?!?!?!?
I think violence is "needed" only in some type of games, like God of War, for instance. In RPG´s, some confrontation is necessary, but we don´t need lots of bloodshed to taste it, do we? Videogames need enemies to beat, and the beating itself implies violence, no matter how much that violence is detailed or notSkinnZero
Good point.
