Yeh, but he said that he BORROWED the game from a friend. It's not his fault that the friend's guitar is broken. And I wouldn't want to pay anything extra just for a game which I don't even own.

i am lending this game from my friend and his guitar is broken so can i play guitar hero without that guitar. can i play it with my ps2 controller. midway_nights
Sure you can, but it's no fun... The uniqueness of Guitar Hero is the fact that you can play like a fool and enjoy it.
To answer it more fully. Yes. The key buttons are: L2, L1, R1, R2, X (frets, in order - GRYOB) Select (Star power - also on guitar) L-Stick (Whammy bar) Start (Pause :) ) None (Strum Bar) Note that the last thing means you hit the buttons at the time of the note, so you can't prepare for the note as you would with a guitar. With this, I was able to hold off less experienced players fairly well (even on 'no star power for you' handicap mode)
