Get UG2. Carbon is too short and it has no replay value. NFS UG2 is Very long - about 30-40hours to beat it, and it has a good variety of cars and tracks. If you are a BIG NFS fan you will enjoy more UG2 !
I say get both. They are both great and some what different from one another. Overall Carbon was better to me because of the cars but for replay value get Underground2.
carbon has autosculpt, but that turned out pretty crappy in the end, and there really is no replay value (unless you really really want to unlock everything, but even then you'll find you get bored of it before you've gone through the game enough times to get it all), nor is there really much difficulty...o, and the best way to do the drifts is to actually drive around at very high speed with a constant extremely tiny drift angle...which makes the drift events really pointless and overly easy... underground 2 has pretty good customisation, the driving physics are off a bit unfortunately, but you can get used to that fairly easily, and the drift events in the game actually require you to drift rather than pretty much just drive normally like in carbon :| Overall: NFSU2, hands down...carbon was just a disappointment overall really... personally i think most wanted is the best recent one overall (the police chases in particular are great), with the 1st underground being the best for the actual races (but of course it doesn't have the open world, which makes it hard to compare to the others overall, although personally i still prefer NFSU over NFSU2)
Do you banjo by any chance own NEED FOR SPEED HOT PRUSUIT 2? It's considered by many fans of Need for Speed to be the last authentic Need for Speed game before the tuner scene gutted and destroyed this once highly respectable franchise. If you don't, get that instead. It's what a NFS game should be, hot exoticluxury cars that you don't turn into "riced" up pieces of crap, good course designs through exotic locations, no garbage licensedmusic for kids(though HP2's weakest point is the soundtrack, it's awful), and no retarded storyline full of cliche characters.
