DMC3. GoW diffs (both games) comes from the fact that for higher diffs you start with a new character, should you have your stuff back from a previous save it wouldnt be hard. DMC 3 on the other hand, gives you your stuff, but DMD is extremelly hard, even with all your stuff on.
DMC3 because the gameplay is more fun, (killing enemies and your weapons) and GoW fighting gets annoying. GoW is more kinda like a platformer but has lots of puzzles which makes it more fun. but it is ridiculously easy because checkpoints are everwhere in the game so if u die u can start off anywhere without loosing your progress. even though DMC3 is much more harder, its much more rewarding
no doubt about it that GOW wins, first of all GOW has a brilliant story and character design, DMC has a terrible story, even worse voice acting, and the character desing insnt done very well. the graphics on DMC are horrible especially when you hit an enemy it looks like sh*t. where as GOW the graphics are beautiful, and when you hit an enemy you dont get ugly visuals, and the characters in GOW are very well developed, and they grow on you, add to that incredible voice acting and setting. people who like DMC say they like it because it is hard is that the only reason, and they must be fanboys of capcom, i like capcom games but still.

Well, he was asking which one is harder, not which one is better--but I agree with you. I played the original DMC and finished it long ago, but it didn't hold my interest enough to want to buy parts 2 and 3. But GOW on the other hand--sheesh I'm only at the first part of GOW2 and I can't wait to play GOW3 (if it ever comes out)! That's how much I love GOW.
Both DMC3 and GOW/GOW2 are hard games to play. If your after just a hard game without storyline consistency then DMC3 will probably suit you. But if you're a storyline buff and someone who likes to get emmersed into a game, then GOW2 is the better. GOW2 just brings different implementations into an adventure game. DMC3 is pretty much the same stuff all round level after level to me. I'd go with God of War but then, thats me. Good luck choosing! :D
