I heard that FFX story sux compared to FFVII story ,
is that true?
and if it's , does FFVII deserves to be bought now for it's story?
(I missed the whole FF series  and I love game's stories :D ,so I'm asking about it)

FF7 story is not best but different with very plot twists in the second disc that can be very confusing with weird retrospectives that you simply don't know if you are dreaming, but it all gets resolve with a few big batlles before the end .
FFX characters are good but i like the FF7 one's more .
FFX's story is excellent, but FFVII's is awesome. I agree with Jkille about FFVII being hyper hyped, but that doesn't diminish, not even a liitle, the great story of the game. Twsists, weird scenes and a magnificent genesis (it reminds me of Evangelion's genesis, that good it is!) not to mention this haunted by the past main character and his arch-nemesis Sephirot, both one face of the same coin. They complement so well, it will explain why there is a movie about them (I just DIED when watching Advent Children, Sephirot actually apeared and fought Cloud! Not to mention Aeris and Zack). In my opinion, FF VII is the best FF game ever created in what concerns to story development... It just ... eats you! You will want to know everything abut the characters, their past and future, and I'm not talking only about CLoud; even this big fat Barret has got his own traumas, same as cloaky Vincent (wich, by the way, got his own PS2 game inspired in his adventures called "Dirge of Cerberus", not an RPG, but a shooter... a must for every FF VII fan, for there appear other FF VII character's as well, even Cait Sith, giving more greatness to FF VII universe).
I got all nostalgic now... T_T... Just get it and you'll see.
If you can't decide for yourself, why bother? You're also ten years overdue, so, I take it you want to play it because of all the buzz that surrounds it?
Anyway, luckily for me, I've enjoyed ALL the numbered FF games I've played, and FFVII has been my favorite since '97. FFX is an amazing game, story and all. Get it.
I don't think FFX's story "sux" compared to FFVII's. While I won't say it's my favorite story, it's still a great game. I never understood why people compared Final Fantasies like they were sequels to each other. No FF has anything to do with any other (despite a few exceptions like FFX and FFX-2, some others, and the fact that they share the moniker "Final Fantasy"), and therefore I think should each be looked at as an individual game. So to answer your question, yes, FFVII deserves to bought to this day because of its story. It's personally one of my favorite stories, but that doesn't mean you should exclude playing a great game like FFX, or hell, even FFVI (which is in a league of its own) ;)
[QUOTE="kirk4ever"]nothing is compared to ffX story ..ff7 was nice and everything but the story is not near ff10 btw nobody flame be logicalmacho_c_a
i agree 100%
I beated FFX , and i found that FFX storyis just fine , it was good to be watched at the moment but after that it doesn't leave anything in ur mind , I dunno how to explain it well , but it's shallowand the characters sux except for Auron and it's end suxalot!but when I heard that FFVII story is awesome , I got interested, though I dunno if I can find it....
so should I try to find FFVI , FFVII and FFVIII?I don't think FFX's story "sux" compared to FFVII's. While I won't say it's my favorite story, it's still a great game. keep saying that:lol: u already did 3 times around ps2 forumsis this the correct order of FF7 stories/events:
1-FF7 (PS)
2-FF7-Dirge of cerberus (PS2)
3-FF7 Advent children (movie)
4-FF7 crisis core (psp)
if not, please post the correct order here. thnx :)
FFX story was great but then it was destroyed by FFX-2 atrocious story. :(Carmilla31
X-2's story is just as cheesy. Why do X fanboys FAIL to see this? What you did not see is that X-2 was not dressed up in epic themes exposing the cheese that has plagued the X series.
Try out Final Fantasy VI. The story was good for its time, the villain is truly the best I have ever seen. Probably the best in the series.
Kefka is trully the sociopath, egomaniac, lusting for power-type villain, and yet he's no surnatural character : just a man with some mental trouble and really psychopathic ambitions.
And the characters are numerous. A must-try.
