So far, I am about 7 hours into Final Fantasy X. I have heard great things about it, and I am trying to give it a chance, but so far it has just been sort of "meh" for me. Does it get more exciting at all the more I play. PS - I just got past the High Plain or High Road, I think it was called.

I think I made it to the high plains as well and quit the game. Guess I should pick it up and play through it again, like every other RPG I own.

Well it's all about the story. And if the characters and story havent grabbed you yet I doubt they ever will. By that time in the game I liked all of the characters and was really enjoying the story.

FFX is my all time favoirte RPG but.... it's not for every one. If your not interested enough by now I'll would recomend you move on to another game.

Edit:

7 hours in... are you sure? You just got out of luca and on the Mi hen High road correct?

Lots of people hate poor Tidus. Tidus is suppose to be a whiny kid, it's part of his character. But over time he slowly understands his situation and grows more mature as he comes to accept his fate.

While we're talking about characters.... Auron is a great character and I was quite surprised about how much depth the game gives him as the story progresses.

Actually I'm at about 9 and a half hours now. I will keep trying it for a few more hours. I really want to like this game; but I guess if I don't, then I can always give FF XII a shot. And, as for other JRPG's, I enjoyed Tales of Symphonia, Dragon Quest VIII (which I am still working on now), Okami (which I guess is more action/adventure), the Golden Sun Games (I don't know if they are JRPG's or just RPG's), and the GBA Final Fantasies. And, if I dislike this game, do you think there is any chance that I will enjoy FF VII, VIII, and IX?

If for some reason you don't like this game, try FF VII, that will get you into the series for sure.

you should try 9 since it's more like the classics out of all the 3d FFs. The underlying principle of playing FF is the storyline. FFX was one of the best, so i doubt you would enjoy any of the other FFs.

Wow that just shows how differnet opinions can be. Dragn Qust 8 was really really slow. I put 45 hours into it and just stopped. As for going back to play other ff games it all depends. FFX was my first final fantasy and I went back to VIII and really enjoyed it, keep in mind the game is very ugly and there is no voice acting. At the end of the day I play RPG's for the story and VIII despite the dated graphics and sound had a interesting plot to kept me playing.

Oh and if you ask me FFXII is a terrible game. Talk about a game with a bland plot. Also th sound quality was no wear near as good in FFX the voice acting sounds muffeld, although I'll admit it seems I'm the only bloke that point's out the sound as a problem eveyone else thinks it's fine. Also although I dont come to RPG's for gameplay I'll admit I really hated playing FFXII. Hated the Gambit system.

Plot Twist? Story?
If a good story is what you're looking for, FFX is definitely NOT the one. FFX's story is lame.
You should play FF VII, that's an RPG with a great story. 8)

BTW, did you like the forced laughing scene of Yuna and Tidus?

Actually the sand box after the ice temple is probably the most boring part right after the swamp/water part of the intro

You got a good 3 hours before it starts getting good...story-wise. But, it'll be worth it.
