Does it make sense to get Guitar Hero 3 for PS2 now?

I tried Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 and it was really good, only problem is that the machine was roaring so loud I can barely hear the song and returned it. I already own a PS2 and I'm wondering if it's wise to get GH3 for the PS2 or buy a brand new PS3(supposedly very quiet) to play the game.

Only reason I want the PS3 version is that future PS2 versions might be dropped.
