Well, the Gamecube is technically more powerful. But most games on the PS2 looked better anyway, and there are two big reasons for that.
1. The game cube discs couldn't hold alot. Only about half as much as a PS2 disc.
2.Not many companies really put alot of effort into gamecube games.
[QUOTE="megagene"]No it doesn't. In terms of graphical prowess from the last gen it goes Xbox>GC>PS2.strat505
he sums it up. if you want a good example compare the resident evil 4's from the gamecube and the ps2.
that is the worst example possible, as many PS2 games look a lot better than the PS2 version of RE4, games like MGS3, SH3, FFXII, Black, which are also better looking than most GC games. The GC is indeed more powerfull than the PS2 but no too many games show it.

thats called bad 3rd party support. if the gamecube had better third party support you would see games actually take advantage of the gamecube hardware. when its call said and done... metroid 2 actually looks better than those 4 games you mention.I remember asking this a long time ago and insisting the PS2 has better graphics. After doing quite a bit of hardware checking and all that, it turns out I was wrong, the GC is better, though if you ask me I would not say by a huge lot, but it certainly is better. If I am not mistaken another example is Splinter Cell, more detail is possible on the GC.mohmaaytahyeah, not by a lot, but the gamecube actually did things the ps2 just couldnt do. a game like this
