Dude...ps1 graphics......

Its almost as bad as atari games or something. Soooooo blocky. I think they were using 2bit graphics or something. _AbBaNdOn

Please tell me you're kidding. Have you never seen an Atari game before? I had the 2600 and it was considered a freakin' miracle and feat of computer science if your character on screen wasn't just a dot or a flashing square...

I remember loving a game called Vigilante 8 on N64 long ago, and a couple years back I got the old PS1 version just for the heck of it. It was dark and blocky and nothing like I remembered, not to mention it felt really slow or missing frames or something during animation.

I have no problems w/ PS1's graphics when I play PS1 again. And honestly, I prefer PS2's graphics than PS3.

For me...too realsitic graphics are not good. IMO best graphics EVER are Rogue Galaxy, Hitman Blood Money, MGS 3, and RE 4.

Well, I have a PC and a PS2 and to be true I have this experience with PS2 graphics ( well, except for games with Cell Shading and games like RE4 and MGS3 and others)... don't take me wrong... I love my PS2 and I couldn't live without it anymore.But I never had a problem with gfx, Becouse I understand that the PS2 is from 2000, and PS1 is something like 1994. And becouse I've played even Atari 2600 whem I had 5-6 yars. Them I've buyed a Master System, Genesis, SNES, PSX and in the begin of the last year my PS2... but I've always have a PC and see the graphics evolution by those years. But like I said, I had never have any problem with the gfx... I found they chopy but not ugly :roll:

Never attempt to talk about graphics using bits. The majority of people who do so (such as you right now) do not know what they're talking about.

But yes, old 3D hasn't aged very well.

Afcourse people will say PS2 games look horrible, 80% of them do so already compared to any next gen console (ignoring wii)

Anyway i still think Dino crisis 1 and 2 look amazing considering the hardware, same for FF9 and its lively citys

Yeah DC2 had awesome grpahics. I still regularly go back to that game. Alone in the dark: The New Nightmare had decent gfx too, as well as final Fantasy 8. FF8's were the best you could get at the time.

I agree with you too. Too realsitic graphics (and also gameplay) doesn't feel like a game anymore.

Well, good graphics don't mean bad games, just that when it does have good graphics, the developers might not have spent enough time on gameplay so the game is not quite as good IMO. Ex: Need for speed most wanted, compared to the other NFS games out since, I think this one is the best, others have better graphics but, it;s gameplay that your really looking for... I play Starcraft and I'm 100% happy with it, graphics and all. When I play HL2, I'm also happy because the gameplay is also good, but not just because of graphics since I play HL1 too.

It's just a matter of whether gameplay is good or not and if the graphics are acceptable for the time it came out. I haven't played PS1 games, never played PS3 games, I think my PS2 has a LITTLE sloppy graphics, yet I am perfectly happy with it (the old BIG PS2, and yes it still works, no it's never broken down).

It all comes down to, what are you looking for: gameplay, graphics, a balance of both, or just a good game that's fun to play.

Evolution is necessary. Please don't diss the source. That's how life appeared on earth. Trial and error.

Atari, Sega, Turbo Grafx16, Famicom (and others) are not errors but the way to the future. You should all be grateful even if you weren't even born when the first consoles came out. RESPECT YER ELDERS!

What really amuses me these days, are people so stuck up on graphics. In the end even I don't care about the bells and whistles if the gameplay sucks.

They might suck in your opinion, but I also think that the argument is not such a valid one if you haven't been exposed to older gen consoles. Sorry to be so blunt, but its time for a reality check.

I'm not here to tell you how much better I am than you because I played and owned those consoles. I'm simply expressing how tired I am of people saying a game rules simply because the graphics are nice. Gameplay matters! Just like I don't understand people who pay money for already leveled up chars on MMOs.

Being able to read helps too...
