Do we have any fans out there of Tak 3: The Great Juju Challenge? This is my son's favorite game and being an only child, he has convinced me to play this game with him.

Here's where I need help. He wants another game very similar to this for his birthday. He prefers a 2-player game where the players work together to achieve the goal. Personally I like this feature myself as it teachs and encourages teamwork. I can find other highly rated games that are similar, but they're all 1 player games. He would like this to be a PS2 game, but he also has Gamecube and Xbox (the regular Xbox, NOT 360).

Does anyone have any games to recommend? This will be a birthday present for his 11th birthday. Prefer E rated games, but T would be okay if the game is not too difficult.

Yeah, Lego Star Wars is probably the closest it gets to a game like Tak with co-op. But if you don't mind something a bit different, I'd recommend Marvel Ultimate Alliance, X-Men Legends 1 and 2, and Justice League Heroes. All are co-operative PS2 games with a top-down camera view. They can all be played with up to 4 players, are T rated, not that hard, and there's no blood. But personally, the most fun co-op game I've ever played, would be Zelda Four Swords Adventures for the Cube. This game really focuses a lot on helping each other to get through the levels by solving puzzles and stuff (the others I named are mostly about fighting). But it's even less like Tak and not in 3D. It's E-rated, colorful, and thus very suited for kids. So if you don't think your son will mind it's for the Cube and in 2D, this is what I would go for.

There is not much solving but those Mario Party games, Super Monkey Ball should be very enjoyable. Star Wars is an excellent choice, many good games to play when he grows up and there is the potential of books set in that world if he is interested.

On a sidenote, its really good to see a hands-on parent taking an active interest in ESRB ratings and playing with their children. Hope there are more like you out there!

Crash of the Titans will include 2-player story mode (I think), but I'm not sure how good it will be considering the developers will most likely focus on the Wii and 360 version. The same with Spider-man: Friend or Foe.

He already has Lego Star Wars 2 and enjoys that one as well. Thanks for the suggestions - I will look into these. If anyone else has any suggestions, would love to hear them!
