Favourite RPG main character?

Who's your favourite RPG main character?

I was thinking a while and I think my vote goes to Squall, even though I would have liked not saying a FF character hes probably the best main character for me.

when i think of it, i cant even find a challenger. if fei fong wong wouldnt come up from amnesia like cloud he would stand up as a challenger

I'd say Auron from FFX hes kind of a main character...

Ashley Riot from Vagrant Story, and even though she isn't the main character, Azel from Panzer Dragoon Saga.

lets see who are there as memorable main character. dq8, smt main characters are us, so they are not included.

Cloud - if he wasnt a gay chickenhead and would wear something for a man( i hate PURPLE on a man), he would be good.

Fei Fong Wong - he is cool and strong but i dont know, he is lacking something i cant say

Sora - personally i like this kid but he is not for a favorite type

Fayt - whatever that person said above, i think all of them in opposite way, he is annoying, lame etc. my friend was quitting the game because of that but couldnt, because of good battle system

Tidus - uhh. i wish i didnt remember him

Laharl - so funny, so powerful but still not favorite type

Squall - damn cool. i think i'll choose Squall as my favorite too

Yuri - a fine dude, powerful and caring but he is abit slow

other than these, there is noone memorable for me.

yes he is same with Vaan,Basch,Fran,Ashe and Penelo. So is Gabranth,Vayne andLarsa they all main characters

I would have picked Squall if he wasn't so ridiculously emo. Not to mention his pretentious personality he puts on becasue he is a coward.

Sora, Vaan... ( didnt like TO much.. but still good.. ), Zidane ( Sorta. ), And.. thats about it.. cant really think of many.. Tidus.. just got boring after a while. Cloud, good character, but the amnesia thing bugged me.

I thought Cloud from FF7 was good, and I like Yuri from Shadow Hearts 1 and 2, but my favourite is Vivi from FF9. He is simplest the best character ever. (think about it, his storyline is so good the copied it for Zidanes story)judofist

Fayt from Star Ocean. He wasn't lame, dorky, nerdy, or acted in such an embarrassing way. He was normal, reasonable, and smart. Most RPG main characters wind up being corny, lame, or cliche. Fayt was a nice change.Shiggums

i can on and on i've played a bunch of rpgs i've still have about a few hundred more to play this summer lol so if you don't see any that you'll put on your list is because i forgot or havent blessed it yet.but these are my favorites so far but most of them i perfer the anti hero or mpc characters better

Difficult to say. Fayt (SO3) was a great character, except for the Ameena part, his reactions were simply stupid. Laharl (Disgaea) was excellent, more for the fact that he is increidibly funny, and his diabolic laugh is remarkable. And sadly, a lot of my favourite RPGs have silent protagonists (Suikoden II, Chrono Cross). I think I'll go with Hugo (Suikoden III)
