FFVII boring?

Does anyone else find FFVII hard to get into? Maybe its because my first FF was FFX, and the transition from voice acting to having to read everything makes all the final fantasy's before FFX incedibly boring.

p.s.-The story in FFVII wasn't even that great>

You had to play it when it was first released to understand why this game had such a big impact and why so many FF fans consider this to be the best FF game to date.

i played it when it first came out and i didnt think it was boring at all

Different strokes for different folks.  I loved VII back when it came out.  It's still one of my all time favorite games. 

I can see how one could like the flash that the voices add but at the same time, I find having to read, makes the game more immersing.  Looking back at all the greatest RPG's (even some recent ones)... You had to read.  So in that respect, was VII boring or was it just tedious to you?

I think maybe that u just got spoiled by FFX graphics. I dont think its fair to compare FFVII after u have played FFX first. Most people who have played FFVI first would agree that its better than both FFVII or X because those people knows the value of a game base on the time it was release. Uchiha_Sasuke1

What does me being a KH fan have to do with anything? Just because I enjoyed KH doesn't mean I know nothing about playing regular rpg's such the ones found in the Final Fantasy series.

FOR THE LAST TIME, JUST B/C SOMEONE ENJOYS KH DOESN'T MEAN THEY CAN'T PLAY OR GET INTO AN OLDER SCHOOL FF. JEEZ.

Okay, since I'm getting so much flack for not liking this game, I will go out right after I'm finished writing this message, borrow FVII from my cousin, play it, and attempt to like AGAIN. I know I said before that I couldn't get into this game because of the lack of voice acting, but I played FFVI, FF Tactics Advance, and FFIII DS and enjoyed them very much. Maybe what I'm trying to say is that its not because of the lack of voice acting that made me not like it that I said before, but the battle system and story that was the problem to me.

P.S.-And just because I didn't like FFVII doesn't mean that RPG's aren't my thing. I love them with a passion. Besides Guitar Hero and a few other select fighting games (SSBM, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Soul Calibur, etc.), RPG's are basically all that I play.

It's not a big deal if you don't like the game. Back then, it was one of the best games I played, and my main reason for getting a playstation. It was also one of the first RPG's I ever played, so it had a pretty large impact on me regarding the genre.

Playing the game now, you may not see what was so great about the game, which is understandable. If it's boring to you, then don't play it.

How far have you gotten, by the way? Most games always start out a little slow for me, so maybe you should give it another chance, but don't feel like you have to because of the way some people responded.

FF 10 is the boring one. I gave it a 6.8 :D I got a nifty 1 out of 9 users recommended this review after I wrote it.

Anyone who likes FF10 over 6 and 7 are just graphic whores. The depth and storyline in 6 and 7 are superior. You can explore the world rather than following a simple path. The battle systems are better in 6 and 7. The characters are more interesting.

I got sick of the tropical setting in 10. The characters put me to sleep. It's just an overhyped RPG with outstanding graphics.

You are the first one that saw that point in my perspective... I agree... and same here my first was FFX and FFVII graphics were HORRIBLE the sound sucked, and the story really and honestly want all that great.. it just seemed like that because  all the previous ones were just BADTrogeton
