I dont know about you guys but I think Final Fantasy X was the best Final Fantasy ever made on the PS2. For me the characters were really well thought out and every other one never felt the same. FFX-2 was pretty good but only cause of the characters.
There were only 2 lol. 10 or 12. I'd have to go with 10 and 10-2 also. Interesting characters, awesome minigames, long adventure... to bad they have no replay value and stupid boss battles and little character/weapon customization. Chrystal Chronicles is so freaking awesome, I wish playstation could get in on that series. You get to make characters, make weapons, have AWESOME boss battles. It does everything write that all the other FF's do wrong. It is missing the cinema's/epic storyand minigames though.But that stuff is incredibly easy to add.

Your right and wrong. Technically yes there are four. One you can only play online though and the other is just a spin off from the first one and not really its own game now is it?
Out of all the games on the PS2 I have played and own, I would definetly say that FFX is my favorite. FF12 just wasn't what I expected from Square, the story was blah, the characters didn't have any character, and the battle system just plain out was the worst I have ever played in any of their games. FFX has some really good characters (not as good as FF4 or FF6, but I still cared about them during the ending of the game), the battle system didn't change a whole lot, but it was what I loved about the series, and the story was well done. FFX's biggest flaw was the mini-games that you were required to run through to get the Ultimate Weapons. I didn't like that in FF9, there's no way I am going to like it in FFX. Still, Codebreaker keeps me from frustrating myself trying to dodge way too many lightning bolts, or driving myself to nuts while trying to drive a chocobo, and I won't even get into Blitz Ball.....hmm, run on sentences? ~grin~
Well, it's a very poor bunch (FFX, X-2, FFXI, FFXII...Weak) to pick from when comparing it to the SNES and PS1 era FF's. But I did like FFXII quite a bit, more then the others.
Seeming how there has only been 4 total games with the Final Fantasy name on it, I'd say yes....it was...it provided an unforgetable experience...I still haven't finished FFXII, and I'm not really sure when/if I will.....
I would be in agreement with you sir, FFX was the best on the PS2 and a frontrunner for best in series, it's greatest flaw is the Tidus/Yuna makeout scene, and you can't even skip it.

FFXII > FFX. At least I thought so, it had a far more realistic setting and characters to me.
For me it was hard to enjoy FF XII after playing FF X, and I think the main reason was because everything in the way of story telling to characters were done right....Atleast in my opinion....I think this was one of the best games to ever have released on the PS2.
I'm going to say NO for the following reasons. It was linear as hell, the whole game was about some stupid pilgramage with VERY predictable twists you saw coming. The story was simply teenage soap opera quality, it was so sappy and quite frankly, it insulted my inteligence. The characters are among the worst Square has ever assembled, you have so many stereotypes accounted for from the androgynous girl looking boy to the calm and collected "badass" which only little kids look up to. CTB sucks, srsly, it's such a boring way to fight enemies. The optional stuff sucked hardcore, blitzball should have been developed with better graphics and arcade style gameplay. Hate to say this but, FFVII had a bigger, more fun world to explore, Spira is WAY TOO SMALL. IICR, The Golden Saucer was open during the meteor threat established in disc 2, there was no fun area in X for you to play minigames. And no the calm lands is not fun.
