Not really... Its a good game, but if story is what you are looking for, you will be dissapointed.hermes200Exactly.
The story is horribly boring. There's no character development, boring characteristic, and not much involvement in the main story line. Leveling system is also very bad. By the end of the game, all you characters will all have the same skills. Not much group strategy. Killing mobs is incredibly boring because your characters attack automatically. Boss fight are pretty fun though. The graphic is very good for a PS2.ÂÂ If you play the way this guy did, then yeah, you'll probably wind up with a similar opinion.
If you're looking for a great story driven RPG, this is not it.

Luckily, you don't have to have all of your characters the same, as you control their destinies. You control what skills they get and it's up to you to make a strategy. Your characters only attack automatically if you choose to play like that. In other words, don't fault the game for how you decided to play it.
One of the things I enjoyed most about XII was the freedom to do what you want, where you want and how you want. It's completely up to you how you want to play. I enjoyed the battle system a lot.
The story while not the most entertaining, was still enjoyable none the less. The characters could have used more depth. The Espers & Quickenings were pretty much useless(to me). Quickenings were required to raise your mana pools however, so they're useful that way.
Other than that, I found this game highly addictive, probably the most addictive FF game I have played thus far. The world is massive, filled with many secret areas to explore. The 90 hours it took me to beat XII, tells me it was "worth it", I enjoyed every minute.
IThe story is my biggest complaint with the game I beat the game and it felt like it was so incomplete. . Vegetaxxssj4Hope you have a DS, Revenant Wings should flesh the story out further. It will also finally sissify Vaan as a full fledge dork. This is what all the typical fanboys want, a game full of stereotypes. I know it's not out yet, but surely this is the game's vision, aside from a beginner's RPG.
