Game decisions (poll)

I need help deciding what game I should get for the PS2

im having trouble deciding, because this could be my last decision for about a year.

Please tell me which game i should choose, or give me your opinions on any other games you would recommend me. Btw: i dont really have a favourite type of game, i play all kinds, so i won't put down your ideas, please help me decide

I'm not into RPG's so I'm counting out Dark Cloud. Guitar Her could last you a long time. MK: Armeggeddon, I heard, is crap compared to Deception. Black is good but I heard was pretty short.

From the list, get Guitar Hero WITH controller.

I'd recommend you look for Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy or Indigo Prophecy. Those are two great games.

You should get Rogue Galaxy or Dragon Quest 8 there both great RPG's and they aren't on your list.

(Sorry I can't give you a suggestion on the games on your list I haven't played any of them)

the games i have from your list are GH3 and Black. i recomend GH3 because it will last for a long time.

Black will only last for about 2 days i think because its short, and it has no other game modes. it has only single player mission. no other modes. no multiplayer...whatsoever.

i recomend Rock Band, Final Fantasy XII, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Call of Duty 3, Kingdom Hearts.

DC2 is one of the best ps2 game eve., Soul calibur 3 is way funner than MK:A. GT is better than having two fighters although NFS:MW or NFS:U2 are better racers. MK:A is more worthwhile than Black. A crappy FPS game is better than a god awful stupid rythym based game.

I would get these 3 games(Dark Cloud 2, Soul Calibur 3, and Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec)...MK:A was crap because all fatalities looked basically the same, Guitar Hero 3 I never played it but I heard it was hard but it has the best song selection for the guitar hero games, and Black had no multiplayer...whatsoever...

If you have not played Resident Evil 4 yet, that is the game to get. It is the most replayable game ever. I have played it at least 10 times each on both the Game Cube and the PS2. It never gets old. If not RE4, then get Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition.

As to your list:

I would pick NFS:MW. Pros: extremely fun, cop chases, lots of customization. Cons: the campaign is not too short, but it isn't extremely long either; there are 2 player modes--but there is no 2 player free-play mode.

My 2nd choice would be DQ8. Pros: also fun, extremely long game, DragonBall Z character design, cute monster design, fun mini games and side quests. Cons: voice acting (especially the fat guy that says "cor blimey" every 2 seconds); old-school fighting system, grinding; main character has no personality (he is a silent character who never talks).

GH3 and RB are also fun if you are into rhythm games. Keep in mind that RB requires lots of space for the drum set. (Personally, I prefer playing the drums over playing the guitar).

Onimusha DOD is OK. It just doesn't feel the same as the older Onimushas to me. I prefer Demon Siege or Onimusha 2.

SC3 is a great game if you are into fighting games. A friend of mine who loves fighting games has been playing this for months and he never gets tired of it. You get lots of customization and a great fighting system as well as some OK mini games.

I never played DC2. I did play the first Dark Cloud and hated it. The dungeon crawling was overly repetitive and unimaginative. And I despised the fishing mini game. From the reviews, DC2 seems like it would just be more of the same, so I would definitely pass on it.

If you are going to pass on Black, I don't see why you would pick up COD3. IMO Black is the better FPS on the PS2.

For me Dark Cloud 2 crushes every other game in your list including dq8.

FFXII might not be a bad choice for the OP if he wants a game that will last for a year. God that game is long. I would definitely choose FFXII over DQ8.

Black is not that great of a game its all about the story than it is about the gameplay.
