Games with a great story

What games have you played that have (in your opinion) one of the best stories you've ever played? I mean a game that you couldn't let go untill you see the end. A game that traps you, that occupies a big part of your brain. A game that when you're not playing it you're thinking on it and how the story would continue. A game which is so intense that you even dream of it (.. yeah I think that'd be too much... but it happend to me so...)

Here are the games that I've played and thought "WOW!!! WHAT A GREAT STORY!!!"

-God of war 1 & 2

-.Hack//G.U 1, 2 & 3

-Shadow of the Colossus (not much story, if any, yet the open ended background and ending makes you think a lot)

-Zone of Enders: 2nd runner

-Final Fantasy X (didn't finish that one though... actually... never finished any FF... guess I'm lazy :\ )

What games hooked you just for the story?

PD: I think I should say that the game also should be a good game, and not just a good idea..., but I leave that to you.

I believe the Metal Gear Solid games MUST be recognised for having the best story!:D

10-19-2007I think first comes Okami.Then god of war series.And of course Devil May Cry 3 Dante's Aweakening.

Manhunt 2 had a pretty damn crazy story, it was awesome.

The best story ever has to be MGS, specifically 3, 3 had the best story out of any of them.

for playstation 1 games; Legend of dragoon, legend of legaia, final fantasy (VII, VIII, IX), breath of fire III and IV.

for playstation 2 games; Suikoden V, Dragon Quest VIII, Metal Gear solid 3, FFX, and the .hack series.
