My friend borrowed my ps2, and recently gave it back, but.... I played Gta, and now its frozen like after 5 -10 minutes, I tried Fifa 07 and it makes a huge clicking / clunking noise , and freezes everytime it tries to load something. Anyone have the same issues?

Yeah i think so.. There is something wrong with your lens motor (just like he said, the one that moves the laser up & down). This once happen to me. Cos the motor is already broken, you must change it with the new one. You cant do it on your own, take it to service center.

No...could be on its last leg though...after you load the game and turn it on, open the PS2 and see what's going on inside...

I think you better prepare to send it for repair or replace the entire PS2 already ... it's sounds really bad ... did it ever get banged onto any hard surface by accident?

I got this problem too. Thump the ps2 3 times and play games on it often. Doing this made the problem go. It works. Seriously. If it doesn't, for you, get a new ps2. The silver one!

awwwwww man that really sucks .... i think it's really time to get a new one ... if you do, then you can go open the doomed one and look at the insides ... maybe the parts are really coming apart due to a bump? happens when you least expect it!
