Yes- Splinter Cell (can't remember which- sorry!). I had saved my progress about 3 seconds before a body was found and the alarm raised... and about 15 seconds away fromthe nextcheckpoint.

I've also saved a splitsecond before a guard I hadn't noticed rounds the corner and sees my in bright sunlight. Dang.

On Tomb Raider 2 for the pc (not sure about the ps versions) you could save anywhere. And I saved in the middle of the final boss fight in a place where it hits me as soon as the game loads causing instant death. And of course I only was using one save slot :O

Final Fantasy Adventure for gameboy, and Final Fantasy Legend II for gameboy. Both of these happened back in the day, with the second one screwing me over the most. I was at the last boss after weeks of playing....

Ya i've saved games at bad times... So bad I've had to restart games... I've learned my lesson and now I save my games on different slots at different parts of the game so I dont have to restart the game if I totally screw up.

Xenosaga 1 screwed me over. I beat the game and saved it and then it wouldnt let you go back and keep playing. So I erased the game and never played 2 and 3. The last star Ocean game also almost screwed me. I wondered out to that desert temple or whatever and after I reached the save point and saved I was very low on healing items and the stupid save points dont heal you. I had to back track out of the desert because i couldnt go forward. I got past tha part though. Uhh there have been other times but they dont come to mind.

I don't know why people says that the game sucked and that it was too hard. I thought it was great and with a good strategy all battles were just hard enough to have fun.

Something similar happened to me with that game. For some reason when I loaded the save, my character would fall through and die. Of course, I had to start the game over.

P.S. I got to the final boss and never figured out how to beat it. Then a while later I decided to go online and search for a guide. Man, I was so mad.
