Well actually, it's a mix of BOTH gore and atmosphere. I think it's wrong to say its all gore (or 99%). I will agree that the Fatal Frame games are much scarier though. (especially 2 and 3. Yes, I said 3 GameSpot lol)

Give the game another chance and dive deeper, it'll get better.
lol hi rice :) Anyway, I forgot to add, it does get more actiony :P It's more action oriented than the other SH games in my opinion. (the ghosts later on are annoying. Watch out for them)

Yes the ghost are really annoying. You'll get your actions just keep advancing in the game.
Im at the bit in Forest World were the stuttering guy gives you the shovel with writing on it. i dont know where to go after that! and also how do u kill the zombie things that make the screen go fuzzy!? they just get up again when you knock them down. so i just run. but its fun. :D
