I recently bought the NFS Pro Street, I created an Alias, and a new career i completed 2 missions (or races whatever you wanna call). Everytime i complete it says saving do not remoe your memory card. So it was saving. Then today when i came home and wanted to continue with the career, it said the save file is corrupted and so i cannot continue the career. I could not load the alias also. I also cannot create a new alias without deleting the already created one and hence cannot start a new career too..

Then i searched online and many websited told me to go to the PS2 browser and into the memory card. Then delete the saved file pertaining to NFS... Now here is the real problem.. When i go to the memory card section in the browser, I cannot select or toggle between the files... Inorder to delete a file you need to select it and then delete it.. I can see many files here of other games that i'd saved.. But i simply cannot select any of them... The control always sits on the Header which says Memory Card and when i use my direction keys it simply wont go to the files and select them..

Can you tell me what might be the problem????? Due to this issue now i cannot play the new NFS game that i bought..

Please help.. Thanx in advance...

Did you shut the game off while it was auto-saving?? That WILL wipe all data on a memory card and there may be no hope in recovering the data even though you can see the icons.

Do you enough space on other mem cards to move the NON NFS pro street files off the memory card?? Did you try putting the card into the second slot???

if you do have another memory card you could create an alias to atleast start the game and switch the mem card with the corrupted one and then try to overwrite your new alias over the old one? Or make a new alias and then put in your corrupted one and then tell them game to save and then take the card out again (thus wiping it).

Grab any of your other game where you can save almost immedeately. Insert your corrupted card and try to save something to it first of all and see if that dont fix it. If that dont work tell the game to save again and yank the card out like before. Eventually it will get completely wiped, which should fix your problem.

It sounds like you did power down your ps2 in the middle of a save and corrupted the whole thing. PS: Turn auto-saves OFF in most games, especially need for speed games as it will totally speed up your gameplay. You just have to remember to save when you finish playing. Waiting for auto-save in need for speed games and a few others drives me insane!!

Good luck dude, hope you dont have to lose all your files and that something i said helps.

A few question on your suggestions..

Actually i dont have an extra memory card but thats not a problem, I'll buy one.. The issue is if i have another memory card, how will i copy the files if i cannot select the file.. I dont know if i'm putting it right... If you wanna copy a file you need to select the file then hit (x) and then select the copy option, right???? But right now i'm not able to move the cursor (the control) over the file!!! So how do i copy the files.. There are games like guitar Hero and God of War, that i've completed 75% and if i need to start them from the beginning, i'd really give up playing them... So i'll try the other options, and let you know..
