I'm just giving general tips that will help anyone.

1-train everyone evenly

2-be smart when using your LP and compare prices at different shops and towns(items, weapons, techniques etc.)

3-get some quick cash from bounty hunting(you get good money and loot and weapons/armor)

4-buy gambits that you need and set them up(ex-have a gambit set to get rid of sleep)

5-explore and have fun but save often

6-test new ways to beat monsters and boss

7-use your Mist moves

8-make sure every one has strong white magic skills

9- know how to get rid of status effect with magic and items

10-get creative when you use your techniques and all your different gambits and magic during a fight and when prepare for a battle

As I said before this just general tips that anyone can use these. I hope this help's you guys out

I think the best advise for any RPG is "Take your time playing the game and explore everywhere before moving on" If you do that any RPG you will be fine.

Even if you explore everywhere and take your time, you still have to level up beyond belief. Its not so bad in the begining, but once you get to wraithwalls tomb, the difficulty level skyrockets for the rest of the game.

You forgot a very important thing. #11. Always have the main party consist of as many females as possable and always always always use Fran.

My final party consisted of Vaan, Balthier and Basch, IIRC. I did not train everyone evently, at all. XD there was like a 2:1 ratio in my characters' main party/lame party levels. I guess my only real advice is learn how to chain Quickenings properly, though they become pretty much useless about half-way into the game. Same for Espers, simply refrain from using them as possible. :I (If anyone has problem with getting an easy 8-at-east quickenings-combo, I'd gladly explain the system. Dx )

When you reach a new dungeon, what ever level you are when your there, train till your main party is at least 5 levels higher before advancing. Thats how I role. And I use Vaan cuz hes the main character, but I always have Fran and Basch out because they're the best.

Anyone think that Fran and Balthier should have their own game? Like a cool FF sky pirates game.

i disagree with training everyone evenly. my vaan, basch, are at level 60+ and everyone else at 40-45 and i never die. and for boss fights you just have to people attack and who ever the 3rd one is run around the permiter and then run in and attack or heal. running around you rarley get status aliments or hp damage. mist moves are only useful towards the last half of the fight too.

I don't know if anyone said this yet, but there is a gambit set up and exploit where you can basically leave your computer and your characters auto attack a infinite spawn. Come back overnight and you'll be 30 levels higher(depending on the level you started at)

with my all my characters leveled i could take any fight on with any combination of my chahracters and never have to worry if they were too weak. Balthier was my favorite character I gave the zodiac spear to Vaan he was hella strong cause of that. I gave penelo the katana and it was a good match for her. Fran just stuck with bows and balthier I gave him guns and Basch has big swords while Ashe has small sword and shield.

I leveled up so much that the last 6 boss fights were way to easy includuing Vain. But completeing Mont Balnc's Clan was still a fun challenge. I think my party was an average 65 when I breezed through the end of the game starting at Giruvean.

I havent trained everyone equally and there is no need to unless you are taking on the later marks. Why watch your LP when some time invested in the Osmone Plain with a Golden Amulet means you can quickly rack up the LP? Gambits were so cheap I bought all of them (since we were farming for LP we inevitably got some loot). To beat bosses a Nihopalaoa with a Remedy does the trick most of the time and I have not had to use any mist moves or summons so far, and I am near the end of the game.

This doesnt show that your points arent valid, but the game is flexible enough to allow for MANY styles of play, perhaps one of the few things we can credit it with.
