How many of you guys are just waiting to get a PS3 when the price drops even further. Is it because you don't like the game that are on it right now that's holding you back or is it because of price
Asking for the thing to go down in price further is stupid. The 100 dollar drop of both models (with 20 gigs added for each model) is very generous enough. It comes with built in wifi, web browser, Blu Ray HD player, free online, proper pricing for online content (where items are sold in real currency, not Disney dollars), and some real good games on the market. I'm smart and kept my PS2 if I ever wanted to play PS2 games.
It's a bit of a combination of price and games. Thankfully there has been a price drop if I ever want a PS3 in the future. Though at the moment, games are the biggest problem. With only 3 games that even catch my interest, I just don't want one at the moment.
Right now there are no exclusives out that I want for it... my general rule is to wait for 5 exclusives that I want until I buy a system. At $400, it's finally at a point where it's reasonable, but I'm going to wait until the SIXAXIS is phased out and the DualShock3 becomes the pack-in.
I'm definitely not planning too, because I already chose the Wii and Xbox 360 this year.
That doesn't mean I never will, back when the big fight was between the Nintendo 64, Playstation, and Sega Saturn, I said that I would never get a Sega Saturn... 10 years later I did.
I'm getting one for christmas with Assassin's Creed, Heavenly Sword and Clive Barker's Jericho. I'm also looking into picking up Resitance: Fall Of Man, Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, The Darkness and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
The main reason I'm buying one now is that there is finally a decent selection of games for the console, with many more good looking titles coming out next year such as: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots, Killzone 2, Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill V and Grand Theft Auto IV.
As soon as MGS 4 is out, I'm getting the cheapski 40 gig version. I have 2 ps2's so backwards compatability is not an issue. Looking forward to getting the PS3.
Well, for now i'm going to stick with my ps2, I mean within the next year maybe a little more i will commit with the new systems. plus i'm going to get a PSP so that will keep me with some new releases until i decide to upgrade!

Very true. There is NO game for the PS3 which even in the slightest interests me. MGS4, nope! GOW3, nope! GT5, nope! They don't exist anyway - I wouldn't be surprised if Sony pulled out of the console market in 6 months time - the PS3 is awful.

Whatever Fanboy....Sony is not gonna pull out. The PS3 is selling quite well now that the price drop is in full effect.
I didn't vote in the poll cuz you are missing guys like me who have it already :P But how much was the ps2 when you guys bought it? I bought mine well after it came out so it was cheaper, but wasn't it fairly expensive for a while? And to junebug, dude, calm down. And what games do you play? Not one game interests you? That's hard to believe
heck na i aint gettin one. 360 is cheaper, has xbox live (which is better than whatever ps3 has to offer), and the 360 also has a lot more exclusive games [halo 3, gears of war (well i guess it is also on the pc), and mass effect]
I'll get a ps3 after my first year in university. My grades come first, I need to get in my faculty in my 3rd year. To be precise, I'll get it on Summer :D Yay!!!:)
