Is it good? I love Zelda, and exploration/battling games...would I like it?zeppelin_64
Ok, first off... SotC is nothing, NOTHING like Zelda... there ain't no tons of stuff to do. Basically all the game consists on killing 14 giants called Collosi, and that's pretty much it.
2nd, the exploration here is quite... hmmm, useless if you will. Yes, the world you are allowed in is quite extensive and some landscapes are reaaly cool looking, but there's no point on exploring this vast world. As I said before, all you do here is face 14 Collossi and that's it. There's nothing more out there... or at least nothing worthy.
3rd, the battling here is somehow easy. The most diffiult part of every Collossi is to find out how to reach his/her/its weak point and then on is a walk in the park.
HOWEVER, I've always said SotC is a must play game. So go and play it, perhaps it won't fulfill the requirements you seem to like in a game, but this game is an unique experience and even being that easy and short, it will leave you a sweet taste on your mouth (or wherever).
- There are 16 colossi
- The point of the game is the story or more importantly the complexity of the story compared to the simplicity of what you do in the game.
- The enjoyment of facing the colossi is figuring out how to bring them down. There are several ways to kill each one.
I agree that it is a must play game. I had wanted to play it for so long, and when I finally got the chance to I was really hoping it would take a long time to finish. Sadly that is the game's only drawback, it end's rather quickly. And just because the game has only boss battle's that's what make's it so unique! The world is empty, except you, your horse, and a few giant's. Getting around has a slight learning curve, the first colossus is literally across the way from where you begin, but later one's have you traversing through cave's, and around cliff's. I really enjoyed all the scenery, even if you don't need to explore it all. Also the wide range of colossi was well done. Ranging from normal giant's, to large bird's to even small almost human sized dog-like being's.
It's sort of a hard game to find, but it's very cheap now. So I would say yes to picking the game up.
In my opinion everything about this game was perfect. Sure, it was a little hard to find out what you were supposed to be doing at times to bring the HUGE Collossi down, but other than that I think everything was perfect. I really like the graphics that they were able to pull of on the Playstation 2 hardware. And the went for the "pretty" graphics feel rather than the "realistic" graphics feel that other games are so fond of doing. I do not think the game was too short, I think it was just the right length. Just the right length to be replayed over and over again. I do not think the game was to easy. If the game was much harder most people would just give up on it and never get to experience the greatness.
Do not think about it, get it. This is one of the must own games for the Playstation 2. Decades from now, when people are thinking back to the cool games of consoles past, this is one that will definitely have a place in everyone hearts.
It's an excellent game. It's has a unique concept which combines between exploring and fighting against a number of shadows to reach the hero's goal. It also has a great replay value...Read my review for more info about the game.

Like someone said before it's NOTHING LIKE ZELDA .
I mean you do have an INCREDIBLE BEATIFUL-REALISTIC HUGE WORLD but is actually not much to do - almost nothing - nor characteres for you to interact with or minigames . Still there is still a few tricks you can do , thoug some of them like killing a eagle or grapping to one of those for ride are hard to do cause the realistic movement of you character- i did'nt make this ones -.
The batlle with the colossus tend to be long at times if you don't know what to do and the constantly climb them up can get tedious if you don't have the patience required -THIS IS A GAME THAT REQUIRES A LOT A PATIENCE .
If you like it go for it... i rather preffer Zelda games even is more and more of the same
How is it?
Explore barren landscape on uncontrollable horse for 20 minutes, fight imaginitive looking colossi with terrible camera angles. Rinse. Wash. Repeat.
The game looks fantastic with great atmosphere and art design. Shame the gameplay is so shallow and lifeless though. Avoid it and pick up ICO instead, miles better in my opinion.
A boring game thats overrated and praised due to you fighting only big bosses.Hinata237
Lol, you completely missed the point of this game.

And speaking of overrating games, look at your reviews. You hand out 10s like their pieces of candy. FFX-2 is a 10? A game that is considered crap by nearly everybody that was dumb enough to play it? LMFAO.
