A lot God of War is one of the greatest PS2 games around. I have God of War 2. I have played the story mode over 6 different times its that great.lowryderman

holy crap bro , the thing is that I wanna buy play those games but I dont know if its a good idea to buy a ps2 for those games , the ps2 costs around 180 dollars in my country , the ps2 is about to die , so I DONT KNOW!!!!

There are a LOT of games for the PS2. But I don't know if it's worth paying so much unless you're a fanboy..or fangirl like me. xD I pad about 300 dollars for my PS2 half a year ago and I don't regret at all.

And GoW is an awesome game, really.

Well I'll echo other peoples sentiments, even at the price it is in your country, the PS2 is a brilliant gaming investment, in fact, aside from maybe the DS, it's the best gaming investment available, even in comparison to the Wii, XBox 360 and PS3.

If you're going to buy the PS2 just for God of War then you might be a little disappointed, they are both brilliant ,incredibly accomplished titles but they might not fully blow you away as the reason you bought the console.

Still, saying that, the PS2 is, simply put, the most successful console ever and has the biggest portfolio of games ever. That's not fanboy ramble, it's undisputed fact, and the facts state that PS2 is just highly recommendable. Even if God of War doesn't blow you away (but I'll be darned if it doesn't at least impress), then you'll have opened yourself up to a brilliant portfolio of gaming experiences just by buying the PS2 - you will be able to get the likes ofIco, Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4 (unless you've got it on Wii/Gamecube), Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Final Fantasy 12, the Devil May Cry and Jak series and much, much, muuuuch more. Trust me, it is well worth the money if you are even a semi-serious gamer! :)

:lol: first of all, GoW isn't an action game, it's action/adventure, second, to be a great action game you need a deep, solid combat system...not a dial-a-combo combat system

God of War is going down as one of the best action games on the playstation 2. Along with several other games, you did miss out.

i would say yeah! oh i mean YEah u miss alot of fun. if you like 300 u beeter get a ps2 or borrrow it somwhere then get gow 1 and 2 then lock the door of your room and play until he last credits rolewillxcool

Since you like 300 so much, GOW definitely should be up your alley. Some of the people that make fun of the combat are sort of right to do so, because there isnt much there, however there are some really cool puzzles and environments that more than make up for the combat. And even the thoughthe combat is simple it is still animated well.

It is far from being one of my favorites but it is a series that I definitely enjoyed. The game transports you into greek mythology, that alone is cool.

Well ign considered it the best ps2 game of all time, and alot of people.

So I bought it and it was a massive disappointment, all you do is button mash your way through environments, and there not all that great anyway, it gets repetitive, and the so called great twist why Kratos has ashy white skin is lame, I couldn't wait to finish it and start another game.

I think why people like it so much is because it has alot of gore (and there's nothing wrong with that), and the combos look so complicated it makes even the worst game look good, its that easy.

If u didn't saw God Of War or better ... GOD OF WAR 2 it means u hadn't seen anything :) buy PS2 is really cheap now and don't forget to buy this both titles. U will be satisfied !!!! Trust me !!! One of the best games has created ever !!!!

You missed one of the worst action adventure games ever made. Buy SoTC, MGS 2 and 3, ICO, DMC 1 and 3, and Onimusha 1-4

well, lets see. the first god of war did almost get game of the year, so that tells you something. the sequel was great also, not as good, butstill justas much fun. Some might say it's overrated, but the praise these titles have received weighs much more than those opinions...I would definitely playthem if i were you.

lol yup. Dmc is indeed a button masher.

Not only that but gow has better graphics, better puzzles, better music and better mythology then dmc.

Even though I wasnt as impressed with gow as some people were making it out to be originally, and even though it is not one of my favorite games at all, I think it is getting sort of unfairly slammed in this thread.

Its a pretty good game that just needed less enemies, more puzzles and a more likeable protagonist.

Have you ever played DMC? It is the farthest thing from a button masher there is. You can't beat the first level by button mashing.

i suggest you go actually play DMC 1, or 3 before you say that :|
