I think in games like GTA, an all weapons cheat would significantly increase your enjoyment in the game. But with that said, I wouldn't just use such a cheat right from the get go, I would have to have played through alot of the game and then got to a certain point where I said "this part is getting really boring with just the pistol and low machine gun ammo", so I would use the weapons cheat then.
I wouldn't use the weapons cheat AND the unlimited health cheat though. I would have to find my own health and armor to keep it balanced.
It is not worth it because it takes the challenge out of the game. The only game I cheat in is GTA games because it is very fun.nivet14
Yeah exactly. I wouldn't use cheats in a game like Halo or DMC. GTA is an exception, only at a certain point.
I've never used a signal gameshark code in my life. I will try to beat it at my own effort thats where the joy of video games comes from.
:D
Well that all depends on you, some people cheat, some dont, some do it for fun, some do it to win... but it really does not matter.. if you are not doing it online then go head and do as you feel dont worry about what other people say about cheating they are not playing that game its just you, only you can decide what you want to do with a game to have fun... its not always about beating and winning... its about haveing fun with YOUR gamesTrogetonI agree. I think the main point is to have fun and I guess if cheating is fun for you, as long as it's not affecting someone else, it's fine.
I havent use a gameshark code either and whats the point of cheats, it just ruins the fun.I've never used a signal gameshark code in my life. I will try to beat it at my own effort thats where the joy of video games comes from.

Here's my opinion: It depends.
I feel that you should play through the game the right way first. The cheats and whatnot come afterwards, when you've exhausted the game's resources through normal gameplay. Then you can cheat through the scenes you couldn't complete, buy the stuff you couldn't afford, and get to the areas you simply couldn't reach on your own.
But, for the love of god, don't ruin the game. Get your money's worth first, then expand on what's left.

Agree, try to get as much of the stuff as you can, (the main storyline and most of the extras) till your about 95% then cheat if you want, and replay the game using cheats and enjoy yourself
Here's a scenario. You've got a game like twisted metal: black. You're really into the game, and the story has you hooked. Unfortunately, you don't have a memory card. (happened to me when I first got the game for the family ps2. I used cheat codes to help me get to end of the game so I could see what happened to the characters.
Also, for people who play multiplayer games it can be a lifesaver. Like Smash Bros. or something. You only got the game to play with friends and don't want to spend the time to go through the single player campaign to unlock the characters. Cheat codes are a blessing in that case.
It is not worth it because it takes the challenge out of the game. The only game I cheat in is GTA games because it is very fun.nivet14I only cheat on games where it can be fun to do, but if its hard to do it just makes me play harder. Only by taking this route can you become truly L33T.
While I personally don't use cheat codes or devices, I'd say that it's up to the indivdual to decide for themself. I would just try to persuade them to really try to enjoy the game without cheating first. However, there are plenty of people who enjoy playing games that just have absolutely no skill whatsoever and the only way they can have a good time is to use cheats.
I was with this chick for a few years that loved video games, so I would get her games for birthdays, holidays, etc. (It was the easiest gift-shopping I've ever done!) Anyway, she just could not play a game on her own and it got annoying when she would call for me every thirty seconds, and no, I'm not exaggerating here in the slightest. So she used cheats.....extensively. Even that didn't always help, I remember one time specifically where she was playing X2:Wolverine's Revenge (she loved licensed garbage like that) at the begining of one of the first levels and she went into a small square-shaped room with one door....and preceeded to become hopelessly lost and called for me to help her out. Now...that's a room with four walls and one door and she was totally frustrated. She was fairlly intelligent too, I guess she was just mentally -challenged when it came to playing video games.
Code breakers may help you in some situations, but they also can steal the fun from playing.
Never forget that games are supposed to be fun. Otherwise they are not worth playing. Please Log In to post.
