IS FFXII worth buying??

so i have played FF since 7 ,loved 7,8 was meh,loved 9,loved 10,disliked x-2,XI never played it,and i just rented XII and ive been playing for a while but its not that good,im asking will the game get fun,is it a must buy for u guys or did SQUARE-ENIX drop the ball on this one?

I've put in over 100 hours into the game and I just cant get up the will to play it any more.I recently rerented it and it was just so much damn work, everything just dragged me down. Itsbeautiful looking and sounding but the action and the puzzles are just brain numbing. Idont think I would ever own FF12. There are so many other gamesI would get over this one and alot of those are from the PS1.If theoretically I had no other games to get then I would like to own it. But its so far back on my list its noteven funny. FF games are so overhyped. They are above average but they sure as hell arent anywhere near awesome or must haves orFUN.

Hmm even though the story was a bit dry, and the combat lacks some intensity the rest is just amazing. It has some of the highest production value i have ever seen in a game, and it recently became a platinum title. Not to mention that the hunts are great fun.

Then again it is a very very long game. So you might want to take that into consideration.

FF XII is one of the best games you will ever play. It is what I term as the true evolution of the Final Fantasy franchise. Definitely a step in the right direction and I am expecting similar awesomeness from FF XIII.

For me its a great game... begin to play by the last weekend and have about 10 hours in the game... I've really liked it, becouse it is almost real time... I don't like RPGs that you can control everything with menus anymore, its something like i have lose the patience, or are to old for theese games... If you liked KOTOR for pcthem its a great game... if you didn't like it, you can pass away of it. IMO the story seems better than the others FF games (except 7 and the SNES ones). Its something close to real, nothingLike FF10 *Spoilers* whem you discover that the main character is nothing but a dream... and will fade away whem you kill the ones whos dreaming...Well thats my opinion...I think in the past FF (9 and 10)games they weresmoking something different... the story was so flat.

For some reason it just didn't grab me instantly like some games do. For example DQVIII was a totally different story for me.

I played FFXII for maybe 10-15 hours and then just kind of forgot about it. I probably will play it trough though, someday.

But then again, FF games have never been an amazing experience to me like they seem to be for many (played FFVII, X and XII).

Final Fantasy XII is only the best Final Fantasy game out IMO.... so yeah, buy it. The price is $20 bucks.... tough to beat for a 40 hour game.ZOnikJJ

I would say nay. Hated the Gambit system. Feels like your playing on auto pilot. Also I was never able to wrap my head around that license board. Usually if the game play stumbles I will stick around for the story and characters but.... Final Fantasy XII was just plain uninteresting, I gave it up once I hit the 20 hour mark..... and played Final Fantasy X for a fourth time, that game never get's old.

Final Fantasy XII is only the best Final Fantasy game out IMO.... so yeah, buy it. The price is $20 bucks.... tough to beat for a 40 hour game.ZOnikJJ

40 hours?!?!! I'm on my second playtrough, and it took me more than 70 hours to get to where i am right now.(preparing to enter the Salikawood, but i still have some hunts i need to do. My party is lvl 39ish.)
