I usually only play a game through once, and this looks like a good idea.

I've used the service for almost 2 years. At first I had some issues with games getting lost but that has gotten much better this past year. I live in Missouri and they use the California DC for me. Typcially it takes about 3 days for a game to get back to them and then another 3 days for one to get to me.

They have a 'fast return' service which means as soon as the game is sent back to them and the post office scans it they will send out your next game, this works at best 50% of the time.

If you sign up at brighspot.tv you can earn credit towards your account by watching ads. Ads are typically a minute and credit you like 25 cents, it adds up. For the past 3 months I've gotten 10 bucks off my subscription... only downside now is that I'm not getting any ads to watch.

From a pure money standpoint you could probably do better trading used games on Ebay, that is if you don't beat games very frequently.

All in all its a good service.

I think gamefly is an excellent idea for games like heavenly sword, which is pathetically short, but AWESOME nonetheless... and if it turns out to be a game you'll play multiplayer, or online, or are just in love with it, you can decide to buy it..

At my rental store I pay 10$ a month to get 50% off all my movies and games. I pay 2.80$ to rent one new game for 5 nights. And due to the retards who decide what games to buy for the rental store chain I end up missing out on a few games here and there.

I also researched gamefly after seeing all those commercials by going to their website and reading everything I could think of in relation to all the questions I had.

-How many games did I want to have at one time. 1-2 and gamefly is pretty affordable. If you want 3-4 then its hella expensive. Plus if you do want to have 3-4 at a time then you still have to get stuck with 1-2 games at a time for a trial period of like 2-3 months.

-Another concern is how far away you are from a shipping center. How many days will be wasted while crap is being shipped? 3-5 days of shipping plus 3-10 days of game playing and your looking at only getting like 3-4 games a month??

-I've never had the service but I think I have heard stories about how they never have the new stuff and even old stuff. Chances are your gonna mostly get the crap nobody else is playing until a few weeks or months after the release of the game. Thats fine if you have other games on your list to play but what about must play games??

-I dont know about you all but I watch a ton of movies to. That means I would still have to goto the video store and pay full price for a movie which is like 2.50$ (1.25$ with my discount). That would be hella expensive.

For me this was my answer.... Gamefly was to expensive and I wouldnt have had the service i wanted when i wanted to have it FULL TIME. I think the best way to use Gamefly is to only use it sporadically. If your rental place misses a few games get gamefly for a MONTH and try to catch up and then cancel it. Wait till you miss a few more games and then get it for another month. Use it to augment your rental store instead of take over. Thats my solution though. You may not like movies, or care about how long it takes to switch out games.

One last thought. The more people ditch rental stores and do the online thing the faster rental stores will degrade until they are completely worthless. And let me tell you something. If video stores stop sucking up hundreds of thousands of copies of video games what do you think will happen after that??? No more video games in north america.
