Ive had a ps3 and didnt like it but alot of ppl r still saying that the ps2 is still great. Their a still great games but @ only $130 is it still great to get one?
since youve already "had" a ps3, and if you dont feel like making the investment again, the ps2's library still packs a huge punch and in my eyes it is still one of the top systems on the market. If you have the money, just get the ps3. The backwards compatibility along with Blu-Ray already makes this system worth the money. Games for the ps3 will eventually come, as right now it is lacking in the game department, but the ps2's games can surely keep you entertained for days if no ps3 games are appealing to you.
Kinda late.... Since you didn't like the PS3.... I am assuming you have an Xbox 360 and/or a Wii. So if you have either of those, then I saw it isn't worth your time to buy a PS2.
As RedDraco66 mentioned, there isn't a big library for the Playstation 3, but if you check out the list coming up for the games, there's quite a big library coming up - even though it's later in the year and/or next year in various times. The Playstation 3 is so large that games are hard to make because of the capabilities of the system so it'd be a waste to have a small game on it.
I think it is worth it, and here is why:  I currently own a 360 and a Wii as well as my PS2. I play the PS2 the most BY FAR. The system still has the best games. Once you look past the graphics, you will find that the new gen is really lacking in a lot of ways. I think that will change eventually, but now it seems all the developers are all about technology and not about making great games. Â
Also, the PS2 has a ton of games from different genres. If you go next gen, as of right now, most of the really good games are FPS, military/squad shooters, or a combination of the two. And there are also some good racing games. But no next gen game so far compares to MGS3, GOW2, Ratchet, Jak, Gran Turismo, FFX or GTA.
With every new next gen game I play that is beautiful but shallow, I appreciate the PS2 all the more. Â I think the new gen will get better, but for now, the best gaming experiences you can have are on a 7 year old black box.Â
PS2 is all that I have as I am married and I let my wife stay home and not work. I will eventually upgrade to the PS3 when I have some expendable income but probably not until after the holidays.I may even wait a full year because honestly there are like 200 games I would like to play and I think that could keep me occupied until I am 30 or so. I am 19 right now. I think I may keep collecting PS2 games for years to come as I would like my collection to grow and grow because there are so many unique games for the system that I would like to show my future kids 10 years form now. I guess what I am saying is get a PS2 man. You wont rgret it. It is all I need and I have been playing VG's since the womb.
well the ps3 was ok the best games r motorstorm and f1 and thats it. no I dont own a 360 or a wii. The 360 has just to much problems and the wii would be nice but dont really want 1. Just I here alot about the ps2 and its still byfar the most played and bought system. Just dont no yet:|
It MIGHT be worth it, but it depends on the taste. I'd prefer getting something else if a ps2 is what your thinking of getting since you disliked the ps3. Maybe an Xbox360? or maybe a handheld.
