Its too late to get a fat ps2 =(
You will have to get a skinny ps2
and ya its still worth it heehee xD
I don't freakin know first of all, second, why would you sell all of those for a 360!? Are you mad enough to get a fat overheating console in which you have to pay for online and the best games are all shooters and rpgs!? How about make some money instead of actually selling other systems of which you've paid for in the past? People like you are treating money like it grows on trees!well not really but i wouldent get onebut u can still play good online play

The PS2 is still going pretty strong in tems of games. But buying a PSP "just for music and maybe some games"? You should chose music or music and more-than-just-a-few games. Having a big, heavy MP3 player that costs $200 and will play one or two games isn't worth it. You could get another MP3 player with a lot more memory for a lot cheaper. And, you can actually move around with it. I have a PSP. It's impossible to run, or dance, or even carry it around school.
A 1gb MP3 player will cost you $20. You'd be saving $180 and you wont' have to lug anything around. Add that to the $130 you were planning on spending on the PS2 and you have... $310, easily enough for a used PS3. Maybe even a new one, I haven't checked the prices in while.
That's my suggestion.
Okay this is not even about the PSP. Besides, I have a cousin who has a PSP with only three games and he uses it mostly for music and video. Its no big deal. Sony didn't make these systems into multimedia systems for nothing did they? Its not only about games. The PS2 is still going pretty strong in tems of games. I don't understand why people hate the fat PS2.
The slim PS2 isn't compatible with the hard drive, while the regular one is.
I think that unless you plan to use it for the following 3 years (make it even 2) you shouldn't buy it. You have a PSP, DS and Wii, so just start saving.
If I had a Wii, DS and PSP I would have been able to wait a month or two for a PS3. But I'm not you and we are in different situatuions, so buy only if you think you'll play it after getting a PS3. If it's just a temporal solution, don't waste your money on it.
I honestly think that you should save up almost a gran and get a PSP 2000 and the 80GB PS3. Yes a gran is a lot of money for a want but if you work hard for it, you can fulfil your wants. If you don't work, then go for the PS2 only and play catch up. Not a bad idea.2deluxe
I was just thinking about it now and I changed my mind. I'll stick with my DS, Wii, and PSP and wait patiently to get the PS3.I think that unless you plan to use it for the following 3 years (make it even 2) you shouldn't buy it. You have a PSP, DS and Wii, so just start saving.

people that bash a console they know little about/don't own sound real mature. MY 360 has NEVER overheated and I've taken it apart several times and played on it extensively. You say it has only shooters and rpgs?? What about flatout ultimare carnage, burnout revenge, forza motorsport 2, ridge racer 6, MTX vs ATV umtamed......not to mention all the aracde games >____>

I said the BEST GAMES ON THE 360 and you just mentioned all racing games which most of them are multiplatform btw. Also, just wait and one day that thing will breakdown on you. Trust me it has happened to everyone I know who has a 360. I am not even bashing it since I like the 360. Its just not for me thats why I don't have one and don't plan on getting one.dude, it's the BEST time to get a ps2 right now. it's only $130 (with rumors that it's going to be $99 after the holidays.) they've made 3000 games and counting over the last 7 years. there's some damn good games out there for cheap. nice good used games for $10 or $15 bucks a pop. or old school ones for $5 even. i say go for it. i've had a ps2 for years, but have only recently built up my collection since the games are so cheap nowadays. now i'm up to 92 and am LOVING it. i'll buy a ps3 eventually but this will tide me over for a couple more years.

as for your sig, don't sell things to get things!!!
it's nooby!!
wait a while longer!!
besides, I never sold games to get games, I waited a week!
Of course it is still worth it to buy a PS2 xD
I got my PS2 less than 2 months ago and I already have close to 40 games. PS2 is an awesome system!
It's not too late... the price is good and the price of PS2 games is even better. Lot's of great titles can be found for under 20 bucks. Some even under 10.... sometimes, it pays to wait. You also have loads of discounted, used games to pick from. Although some of the great games can only be found used, because they are out of print....
Then, if you still want a PS3, you can always go for the 40gig model..... since you already have a console that works with PS2 titles. Either way you're going to spend over 140 bucks for PS2 support, if you consider rumble support.... and games like Fatal Frame and Metal Gear Solid, are just not the same without rumble. (just how much is that sold seperatelyDual Shock 3 gonna cost anyway?)
------------------------
PS2 + memory card = around 150 bucks. PS3 price difference for the partialB/C PS3 + rumble support most likely = around 150 bucks.....
I bought a PS2 slim last Friday. It's worth it. I also bought 3 games with it, and my brother bought 4 games. However, there are some games that you may need to order from the interent because they're older and stores don't carry them any more.
I've already ordered Disgaea 1&2 of the internet, and I might order God of War 1&2 of the internet if I can't find them (not likely as it is very easy to find new copies of both at most video game stores).
In my opinion, no, it isn't too late to get a PS2.
A friend of mine gave me his old 'fat' PS2 not too long ago, and I've just started buying games for it. So far, I'm enjoying it, very much. Actually, I plan on trading it in for the newer, slimline model. And best of all, PS2 games are pretty cheap, especially if you buy them used, at your local gaming store. ;)
