I rank it up there with one of the best action games ever made. The controls are perfect, the graphics are amazing, the story is great, the cutscenes are brutal, it is very mature oriented (blood, nudity, and more blood). The Greek world is amazing, there are five or six instances where I was amazed at what I was seeing. Do not hesitate to pick up this game at any price, you will not be dissapointed. I still go back and play this game even though I have beat it numerous times.
Only if you don't mind spending money (albeit not that much) on it. If you do enjoy games like Godhand, Devil May Cry, or Ninja Gaiden. You won't see what is so good about as as God of War is so easy and is only 6 hours long. All the extra disc space is used to put on extra behind the scenes crap that you won't care for. Its all hype, no substance at all.

Shh, your persuading someone to miss out on an awesome game. No substance at all? Right..... anyhow, I think the TC can see from the praise above that it is indeed a game that cannot be missed for the PS2.

You're so right. He won't have the least bit fun playing this game. Don't even bother picking it up, it'll be a complete waist of your time so you should pretend like it never existed and move on with your life. There isn't one single aspect in God of War that will make it an enjoyable experience. /end sarcasm 2deluxe likes to give the same 3 examples of games when ever God of War is discussed. Everyone can have their own opinion on liking a game or not, but guess what, God of War is a fun and good game. It may not appear to have the move list that Devil May Cry might have, but in the end all those games listed are in the same genre and when you get right down to it....they're nothing more than bonafide button mashers.
Should you play God of War Killah? Yes. If you don't like it, bring it back, but I doubt that'll be the case. It is not the greatest game ever made, but it wasn't as if the developers said "Hey, instead of making a bigger game, we'll just include behind the scenes footage"
For someone who's been hearing a lot of the hype and goes in looking for problems, GOW isnt' that great. Go into it with a clean slate, and allow yourself to be amazed. Something the game doesn't get enough credit for is having an amazing presence and beautiful graphics. The scene where you're climbing up the Titan is just breathtaking.
what kind of stupid question is that? it is one of the best games you can buy. I love that game it is my second favorite action title for the ps2. but the game is short but now that it is like 20 dollars and less if you get it used dude just go for it. you really have nothing to lose and eveything to gain.
