Well I have had 2 360s break in 6 months and they constantly freeze so I'm thinking of getting a PS2 for a year or 2 until PS3 gets a good price drop.I'm intrested in games like Call of Duty 3, Killzone, Medal of Honor Vanguard, Socom: Combined Assault, MLB 07 The Show, Madden NFL 08, NCAA Football 08, and College Hoops 2K8.So is it still worth it?
PS2 is still worth it!!!!!!! It is cheap and mostly better than the PS3. The only thing that is different is that the PS3 can play blu-ray discs and has better graphics. Also, the ps2 has almost all the same games. The PS2 is almost the same thing as the PS3, only cheaper and better!!!!!!!!!!!
PS3 price drop might be coming really soon wait till E3 to see if price drops. Even if it doesn't I'd say get ps3 now since your gonna get one anyway.
If you want ps2 for classics like dmc, mgs, stoc, rpgs etc I'd say definently worth it but if you want it for sports games, socom and killzone PS3 will be much better choice because you get next gen versions of them.
well i would say get a ps3 because there is going to be a $100 price drop coming right after E3 and it can play your ps2 games so i dont see why you would buy a ps2. and if its too expensive then buy a 360, and buy that 2 or 3 year warranty and you wont be without a 360 for at least 2 years. my 360 has broken like 4 times since i bought my first 360 in launch but with that warranty i got nothing to worry about because i can renew it and if my 360 ever breaks i just get in the car and go to best buy to get a new one in like 20 minutes.
there are obviously ups and downs to you situation. like rumored above, they say that there will be a price drop. what i suggest, is not to count on rumors, but to count on facts that you know you can trust. i won't make the decision as a suggestion for you, but i just advise you to look at the generalfacts.
one last thing before i stop bothering you: some games are not backwards compatible on the PS3
Definitely, but mainly for great games like God of War 1 and 2, Guitar Hero 1 and 2, Devil May Cry 1 and 3, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, FFX and XII, etc.
The PS2 is most definitely worth it, especially with the price drop on the slimlines. There are plenty of great games to play on the system, and the graphics don't yet seem dated.
Yes PS2 is totally worth it. It's the Atari 2600 of our time. It has so many great titles, and such a big library you can't go wrong. Not to mention that retailers are liquidating their PS2 inventories right now so you can get PS2 stuff dirt cheap. For instance, you can go on ebay to the wholesale auctions and pick up like 100-200 games for $140.
Dude, you just missed some of the best games ever released. Get one ASAP. You won't regret it. With games like : (I have'nt included a single racing or sports based game.I hate those games)

of course!!!while ps3 is espensive im buying a new ps2 cause mine is not working well too and there are so many great games so cheap man of course is worth...ps2 is gona entry to history,it must have is place in a museum or something.lol (just kidding,i prefer to play it in my home)
I just say, listen to all those who love the PS 2 and get one.
It is a great consol and with a huge game libary that makes you go crazy banana. Since it let's you use the good old PS 1 games it gives you more to choose among when it comes to good old games.
Ohh, there is so many good games on the PS 1. Pitty that I will never manage to play thru all the games I want to, just to many of em :)
Im planning on being stuck with my PS2 for a couple more years cuz I cant afford a new -gen, (well maybe I get the Wii) Im fine with that decision cuz I know I still havent played a lot of great PS2 games.
