Xenosaga III, I just started playing it ,,,(no i Havent played I,II) any ways  Its Different from other games ive played RPG,s FFX, FFXI , FFXII. and its taking me a while to get used to it.I find it kinda slow, and the damn FOOTSTEPS are anoying...and whats with the elevatormusic?? does this game continue like this??From what i can see I got alot of reading to do ....again, is this a constant thing throughout the game? endless reading?..SO far i like it its just that im kinda used to the other games i mentioned ....So basicly what im asking is Does this game Rock or what????

i have all 3 but only played some of the first one a few yrs ago and i hated it. i put in some 16 hrs or some thing and all my gears were dead, literally, with only 5hp left. so i don't know how the 3rd one is, i'm assuming its just more of the same with some improvements. idk.

First of all, you need to know that Xenosaga is almost more of an experience than a game.  Think of it like a book where the whole story is set up for you and you play out the major scenes.

I, personally, found all three games to be vastly enjoyable.  To address your concerns, no the footsteps don't stop, but they are less noticable if you use chaos, MOMO, or Jin as your party leader.  The music in the third game is very forgettable unfortunately, and it's a shame they changed after the first game which had excellent music.

The most important thing to remember about this game is to relax and enjoy it.  It's not a fast paced action game, it's a full story novel.  It's not Coors Light, it's a delicate Chardonnay.  Just don't be in a hurry and you should enjoy it just fine.

Play the 1st and 2nd games first, or you are not going to have any idea what is going on!  The Xenosaga games are not standalone games!

Yesssss the game's slow (finally someone who thinks the same) i have Xenosaga II, haven't played the III but i think that is the same. I actually enjoyed the cinematics and if you don't like that then you won't like it all, i actually agreed that you must play first Xenosaga I or II to fully understand the whole play. When i finish the II i actually wanna find out what happen in the third but i still don't know because the game was so slow with the &"#$! footsteps

Im a few more hours into the game and ive got to say the stroy has drawn me in. The footstep thing is still kinda annoying and so far ive only had 2 battles...one on foot the other in space,,,,,I agree with you guys about being lost if you havent played 1 or 2......But man this game feels like your just punching x to go from one dialogue to the next...and watching endless cutscenes....but anyway The story seems pretty interesting..and proves that not all good games need to have breakneck action....nice change of pace.
