So i have pretty much ignored this game series since its mostly aimed at children 7 - 14 however it is being treated like the best game ever made on these forums (next to GoW :o)

So please state your opinion wether the game is not too... disney-esque for a adult to enjoy and your age with it.

I just rented it. I think its really geared towards Disney / Final Fantasy fans more than anything. I'm neither. But its ok. I doubt it's something I'd pick up though. I'm about 4 hours into it. I'm 26 btw.

some people dont like it, even if they're children and some people like it even if they're adults...I finished it 100% and it was amazing, all depending on their taste in gaming.

I'm a huge FF fan, but KH's voice acting and terrible dialogue (was the voice actor for Aerith high?) pretty much ruined it for me.  KH2 was good through Roxas' story, but as soon as Goofy begins to bable about darkness in people's hearts, I just shut it off.

Kingdom Hearts was a great change from normal RPG's or Action games. It was a great experiment that made a great game (Square-Enix always seem to be at their best when they're using other company's IP's. Super Mario RPG is my best example here.). I have some issues with Kingdom Hearts II, mostly in its molding of story and gameplay for the first 30 hours. (Chasing Pete instead of advancing the plot was a poor, poor decision on Buena Vista Games' part.) I wouldn't give it a second playthrough, but I was satisfied with KH2 as a sequel and a PS2 exclusive. I'd recommend the first KH to any PS2 owner, but the second is purely for the fans.

Look past the Disney, KH is a great series.

Give the series a try. I thought the same thing about it before I actually tryed it. I would give my reasons but I'd be here forever. Read my review on the second KH. I'll soon be writing one for the first KH.:)

At least rent it...It's a wonderful game IMO, I think you would enjoy it if you like Disney and Final Fantasy

I hated it.  Some toddlers might enjoy it, though.

Action mixed with Rpg, Final Fantasy mixed with Disney characters - unique and entertaining. I enjoyed it a lot. You may give it a try.

if they kept the same gameplay but made a new story line without disneys kiddy input, i think the game would have been better. for instence the atlantica level that made me want to kill myself. i still give the game like a 9. if they took out the disney charecters and made there own charecters i would give it a perfect 10. Im 16 but when i played that level i felt like i was 7 years old lol.  still good game:D

i dont think its aimed towards children, i think that the combination was interesting and creative, and it created a great story that isnt about death and blood and battles but is still great. and the fact that it takes place in familiar locations (Disney places) makes it even more interesting

Im 30 but I like a lot of games people write off as being childish.   Also I grew up watching disney films (and playing ff games) so there is a lot of nostolgia involved.   If you are in one of those stages that says "everything involving childhood and imaginary things is immature and stupid" phases than you will hate it, but that also means that you hate 90% of games and 75% of movies.

please, this game is NOT meant for kids. just 'cuz its a disney/s-e collaboration doesn't mean its intended audience is kids. the games were great. play the first one then the second, i think the second was a lot better. the missions to get the secret ending for the second game are a lot harder to complete than in the first kh. but then again u can always view both the kh1 and kh2 secret trailers on youtube as it is.

It has a great story (Better then a lot of Final Fantasies), Gameplay is fun, Disney characters are definatly a turn off but, it's a must buy for any PS2 owner in my opinion.

if you still like watching cartoons once in a while and like RPGs then get the game, but i personally don't like the game i think its way too childish and i will never buy it, mickey should stay out of video games
