I think Kratos is an evil character, even if he is the hero in the game...you can actually feel the evil coming from him when he cares about noone but himself...What do you think?
he's a bit of both, but he is a AWESOME character, what kind of dumass doesn't like playing with kratos?? he is the ultimate character created in a game.
i dont know that evil is the right word. maybe insane or angry, he was tricked into killing his family, killed a god, got made into a god, then got killed by another god. if you think he enjoys killing people in the way he does then yeah, he's prolly evil
I would say he's good, the killing is OK coz he's just killing his enemy. If killing is a problem, then all the heroes in every other game would be evil also right?
The god didn't let him die in the first place, and he ended up being a little psycho, that's why I would say he's good. Just being forced by the gods to be in this position.
hummmmm evil???? I guess If he were truly evil he wouldnt mind staying as ARIES lap dog ...and after he killed his family would have said something like WTF.....im verry powerfull now they just dragged me down..or some other BS like that
More so than evil I think he was Pisssed off in a major way......and everyone around him just kept giving him more reasons to stay pissed

I say he is good, he is impulsive and selfish which gets him to do things he just doesnt want like at the ending of GoW 2 but he deffinitively is a good guy

As mentioned, a protagonist does not have to = good quite evil indeed
He cares only for himself and have no problem in brutally killing everyone unlucky enough to be on his way (several puzzles in GoW 1 and 2 involves killing inocent people).
He's not evil, but he's certainly not good. He's just a very disturbed man. Separated from his brother at an early age, given the toughest training regime ever, tricked into murdering his own family, betrayed by everyone. The guy still has emotions, as shown in the cutscenes.
He is both, the reason his evil is because Ares made him that way. But he still feels guilty that he killed his famliy which I think makes him good too.

It is not like Ares has a lot of work to do either... Kratos was a brutal general before Ares, and slain many men. Whats more, after Ares gave him the blades he became even more brutal (he killed his family during a berserk when he burns a village, enters a temple and kill everybody inside)
Also, he is not evil because he lacks emotions (he actually have emotions), but because he does bad things for selfish reasons. He is an Anti-Heroe, and a pretty f**ed up one.
who is good and evil cant be applied, kratos is in a grey area called the Bada$$ zone, because he is not interested in good or evil just being badass,
and besides if you look at the two games,  all the characters can be depicted as evil, so i guess if have to choose then ill say he is good, since he is the better of many evils.
